I was grocery shopping a little while ago. I have had my relationship for about 4 years at the time. And I saw this older couple. They were in their late 80's or maybe even in their 90's. And they were walking from the car to the store, holding hands. I was walking behind them. And being I am quite a bit younger than they are, I ran ahead of them, but not to pass them, but to ask if they always held hands. They smiled and laughed. Always; all the time they have been together, they hold hands when they walk in public. Over 60 years.
And the perfect example, my parents. Every night, when they went to sleep, they would hold hands as they slept. Married over 50 years, and always held hands. My mom's health was failing as she turned 94. My dad 15 years younger. And one saturday morning, she couldn't get out of bed easily. So he called me. She asked me for some orange juice. I went and got it. But by the time I returned from the kitchen with the glass, she was gone. And I looked down, and she was holding my dad's hand.
If the relationship is solid and warm and special, you never stop holding hands, no matter what.
When little kids cross the street with each other, adults tell them to hold each other's hand so they are more secure and safer. If a friend is going through some crummy stuff, I always tell them also that they should feel my hand, holding theirs tightly as we cross the streets, so we are both safe. Always hold your friend's hand, even if it is emotionally. And if your love is special and important, you never let go of each other's hand; in public, and in your heart.

Uhhh!! Never, holding hands is a very important part of any loving relationship. Thirteen years of marriage, still in love and still holding hands. It is so sweet to be holding hands and then kissing the top of your loved ones hand. It makes a person feel special, like no one else exist and that you have their undivided attention. My husband is in Iraq for 2 months now and I cannot wait to hold hands with him again.

you should never stop holding hands , I've been married 17 years and we still act as if we are still on a date. Time has nothing to do with what the heart feels , nor society.

I thought your question was cute.
Very intimate information is exchanged by holding hand. We have been married nearly thirty years and I still like to hold hands.
