The purpose of life is not only one thing. In a career or a job, it is to enjoy what you do and to do it to the best of your ability. As a friend, it is to be supportive and caring. As a parent, it is to be caring, loving, supportive and guiding. Try not to ponder on the "true purpose" of life because by living life well and honestly and by trying to improve (modify) yourself towards a better situation, a better feeling, you will find, in retrospect, what that purpose is. For myself, the purpose of life is becoming a better person for myself and towards those people whose life I touch.

Genesis 1:28 Tells us that Gods purpose for us was to fill the earth and look after it. So the idea was to live in peace surrounded by your family and people that you love and who love you, with a rewarding job to do. Jehovah's purpose has not changed (malachi 3:6, Isaiah 55:11) This will still be the end result for man. If you serve God now, it give tremendous meaning to life now and in the future.

Well, being that everyone is different, then everyone has a different "best" way.

Besides, a lot of people in thier dying ages have not even found thier purpose yet. If you believe you have a purpose besides other then to LIVE then good luck finding it.

In response to the answerer above. The Purpose Driven Life was only a top seller because that crack addict was reading it. You know, the one who had harbored that guy who escaped from jail and shot a bunch of officers. Untill then hardly anyone had heard of it.

pray for direction and help. be patient for the answer, because it might take some time to come.

or ask yourself 'what am i passionate about?' and 'what good will it bring me and others'. then think on these questions to see if you have an answer, if not, then sleep on it for a few days/weeks and then ask yourself again.

this process can take time, but at least with time, you will get clues/pieces to fill out your puzzle of purpose.

Have you ever read "The Purpose Driven Life" by RIck Warren? I totally recommend it -and it was on the best seller list for a long time.

:) It really helps give purpose and direction and definition to your life. Also - it helps people find their individual purpse that God has for them - not a "cookie cutter" pupose that is one size fits all!

to JP below: story not true - Rick Warren is pastor/author/speaker of Saddleback Church - a megachurch of more than 10,000 congregants in California. He's hardly a little known author.

How about your obligation. Will that work for you?

Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecc 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

You'll have a very purposeful life when you worship God and follow his Son, Jesus Christ.

Numerology is supposed to reveal these things. Mine said I
have learned all my lessons, and if I learn to be a leader, I can get off this planet. There are also books about the missions we
take on, coming into this world. Did you know some come to
be a PAIN IN THE BUTT! To teach others patience and
tolerance. Check some of that info out. You'll feel
in your spirit what relates to you.
I even studied a book on auras, and I don't know how, but it
told me my aura was the same colors, yellow and red, that
a psychic told me my aura is.
