My brother and I are two years apart. Despite the fact that we look very much alike, we always finish each other's sentences or know what the other is thinking. I have heard of twins being born months apart but is it possible to be born years apart? Or maybe that part of one was left behind and when the second was conceived, they took on characteristics of the first? Please tell me where you find your information.

No it is not possible for twins to be born apart by about 2 yrs. People who are not twins can look alike so ur looking alike with your brother does not qualify both of you to be considereed as twins. Regarding "finishing each others' sentences and knowing what the other is thinking", i think this explanation will make things clear for you. People when they come close to each other tends to know what the other person is thnkin or what the other person wants to say. It may happen with close friends who are from different countries. If they are really close to each other and know each other well than any outsider then they will eventually know each other's body languages, facial expressions without the need to speak a word even. This is nothing strange and is known to happen. So I think in your case also, u and your brother must be really close to each other so u sense each others feelings, and thoughts.

Hi! I remember reading about this in the book Having Twins by Elizabeth Noble. It is possible for twins to be born days, weeks or even months apart. This happens when early in the twin pregnancy one twin is delivered for health reasons but the other is not. This is pretty rare. Twins are from the same pregnancy so it is not possible for you and your brother to be twins.
However, fraternal twins (twins from two seperate eggs) are siblings who happen to have the same birthdate. Because they are not genetically identical they are no more genetically alike than brothers/sisters born several years apart. They simply have a special bond because they were born at the same time. It is entirely possible that you and your brother have a similiar bond.

Its not possible for twins to be born 2 years apart. The fact that you and your brother look so similar and feel so close is probably just due to being siblings and spending so much time together.
