I went to get my hair done yesterday, and I wanted it highlighted,so I got lorel's Color for dark hair only, and I got intense red. That color barely took to my hair.I mean you can see it if Im under direct sunlight or regular light, but just for refrence,if I ever want to get my hair re-highlighted in 8 to 10 weeks, what brand should I look for?

truthfully - please go to a salon. It's really not that expensive for men's hair hightlights, and they can charge you by the foil if you only want a few highlights. ($3-5 per foil where I live).

I have dark hair as well and I have tried highlighting it myself over the years to save money, and then have had to pay big bucks getting it fixed. Some things you just shouldn't do yourself. All the best! :)

If you are looking for a vibrant red, the hair first needs to be depigmented, and then toned to the color red you want. You should go to a salon for this service. You are not going to get the level of lift that you need out of a home highlighting kit on such dark hair, and if you do... it is going to come out brassy. So... your stylist will apply foils to the hair, lighten to the correct level..... and put a Red or Red violet toner. THis is the only way to get a vibrant color to the hair. Hope this helps...

All depends what country you live in. My wife (here in Philippines) fouled up and had them color her hair - now it looks purple. I (gray hair) use 10 minute Japanese color for medium brown, and it works great.
