Hi Boots - this is what he says:
Exodus 30:23 KJV
The Anointing Oil and Incense
22The LORD said to Moses, 23"Take the finest spices: of liquid myrrh 500 shekels, and of sweet-smelling cinnamon half as much, that is, 250, and 250 of aromatic cane, 24and 500 of cassia, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, and a hin[e] of olive oil. 25And you shall make of these a sacred anointing oil blended as by the perfumer; it shall be a holy anointing oil. 26With it you shall anoint the tent of meeting and the ark of the testimony, 27and the table and all its utensils, and the lampstand and its utensils, and the altar of incense, 28and the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils and the basin and its stand. 29You shall consecrate them, that they may be most holy. Whatever touches them will become holy. 30You shall anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may serve me as priests.

30You shall anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may serve me as priests. 31And you shall say to the people of Israel, 'This shall be my holy anointing oil throughout your generations. 32It shall not be poured on the body of an ordinary person, and you shall make no other like it in composition. It is holy, and it shall be holy to you.

One of the ingrediants aromatic cane... or kane-besm as it says in the Hebrew version - otherwise known today in modern Hebrew as kanebos or cannibis. Here he states this is the oil used to annoint all priests and will be used for all generations.

From Wikipedia entry for Christ:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christ

Christ is the English form of the Greek word Χριστός (Christós), which means literally The Anointed One. The word was originally used to translate the Hebrew word מָשִׁיחַ (Mašíaḥ), that is Messiah.

Using it as an ingredient in an anointing oil is a little different from rolling it up and lighting it and then smoking it. I hardly think that should cause a huge outcry amonst Christians. It was put here by God and therefore had to have an obvious purpose. Native Americans used all parts of the plant for different things over the years as well. That doesn't mean I would consider them Stoners. In the context for which it was used, Simply agree and say yes that is true, however that does not mean it was ever meant to be used as a drug for getting high.

Jesus being the Christ was not dependent on drug use of any kind. The prophecies, they tell who the Christ is, and they point to Jesus.

I don't debunk the idea, but I don't think Jesus used it in anyway while perfroming miracles. Or for any healing power, or just to get stoned. The plant may have been around during that time, there is no hard evidence to say it was or wasn't, but if it was I can just about bet that people were not rolling it up and smoking it or baking it and eating in. I just write this stuff off as nonsense;

It's true, no one is, or ever will be, perfect. Everyone sins be it by thought, word, or deed. We are born sinful-into a sinful world. Who's the best person you can think of? Does he or she ever sin? I assume you have heard of the world known evangelist Billy Graham. Billy Graham will tell you that he is a sinner and no where near perfect. To get to Heaven a person needs to be perfect=sinless. Since no one can do that, Jesus came to take our sins away. Believing in Jesus and accepting Him is the way we receive what He is offering. Jesus cam make us perfect and sinless. Jesus can make us righteous, perfect, so we can go to Heaven. It takes faith to accept such. In this way the dilemma of being perfect is overcome. We can be perfect. By Jesus and by Him alone..

I you don't think your colleague will go off on you, hand him your bible and just say "show me". Although there is a lot of written material out there about Jesus, Most of it is conjecture. Pretty much all the information about Jesus that is "known" is what is in the bible, as there wasn't really a plethora of written manuscripts at the time He lived on earth. I think most of what IS written about his personal habits are guesses at best, fiction at worst. Peace.

You can't translate say a word in Hebrew means this in English and have a case. It goes the other way around. English was not around when this was written.

You can just pray for him and continue to live your life as Christ commanded us too. That will give your friend a great testimony.

I think a good christian reply would be to accept the fact that marijuana is a natural growing plant that according to christians GOD PUT ON THIS EARTH.

It medicinal properties are well known. You are going to get upset that Jesus may have smoked a bit of pot? come on now.
