Origianally the rasta religion was in Etheopia/Eritrea. They beieved that their empror Halie Selassie was a god. But what i've always wanted to know was how did the religion reach the west indies? Other things i wanted to know include: how do they view Ja, and why they smoke so much weed?

All our beliefs are updated versions of older beliefs. The Africans
brought thier beliefs West long before slavery. As there was
an Atlantis, and travel to other continents was easier.
Slavery brought African beliefs around the world, as well as migration since then.

Good question. I think it may have been brought by merchant sailors, but I may be way off. Or perhaps some Ethiopian people came to Jamaica for work if they had special skills or something. Ja rules.
