teletubbies, thomas the tank, tweenies - all the oldies still in fashion

decoration is more pleasing to an adult - the child may just be happy with balloons, and anything bright and colourful

make it fancy dress and then that automatically limits the amount you have to do

For a a million year previous, attempt Sesame highway or Little people (that's what we did for his 1st birthday, very lovable) My son would be 3 in approximately 4 weeks. i'm attempting to hit upon a cake with Thomas the Tank Engine, Jay Jay the Jet plane, or Bob the Builder. so some distance, no good fortune.

this is an age where you need to doit big & colorful, like LOTS of balloons,i wouldn`t worry about themes,think extreme gaudy (unless it`s for you) . can`t impress 1 yr olds got to get their attention!

i don't think cartoon characters will work. u can instead use lots of balloons. u can also use some fluffy things which they would find comfortable.

go with some thing you like 1 yr old will like balloons but you cant let them play with them,,, how about smiley faces everywhere...

girl - barbie or a princess
boy - bart simpson or a super hero theme.
or boy and girl - tweenies theme - you will find them on www. bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/tweenies (no spaces)
