I've been married twice, so have had two mother in laws. Both were very nice people.

I have been married 3 times and have liked or loved them all. I think as long as you love and take care of their child, and show them respect most are ok. The ones that are worth complaining about are the ones that stick their nose into the marriage where it does not belong??? I am sure there are both kinds and some of the people who complain may not be respectful to the spouse or the in-law (seen that before too)

My mother in law is great! I knew her since I was 5 years old. Our families lived on the same street then. Over the years both families moved alot, but my mom and her stayed friends. They used to say "wouldn't it be cool if our kids got together?".... and we eventually did. She is so cool that I can call and complain about her son and she will pretend to be on my side...lol

I only have one problem with my mother-in law and that is my children I feel as though she prefers her daughter's kids to mine and I know that might sound dumb but be for her daughter had kids she would spend so much time with hem then her other grand kids came along and know mine are lucky to see her twice a year that is the only problem I have but i really hate her for that she has no idea how much she hurt my kids and yes i have told her but her reaction was we are to far away but it didn't bother her be for and the daughter lives just as far but can see them every other weekend.I'm sorry it just makes me so angry that she could do that.

I`m sure that my mother in law was the exception because she was impossible! I could go on and on with stories about her nastiness! My husband died suddenly 3 years ago and she hasn`t contacted me or her grandchildren since.

I liked my mother-in-law a lot. But the chains was a little over the top for me so we had to call it off.

i live in new york state and my mother inlaw lives in alabama and i like it that way ! hahaha seriously i dont deal with her that much we have always had a touchy relationship, but my hubby loves her, that does not mean i have to, but i still show her respect, silence is golden, you say more with your mouth shut, than you do when you open it. and i belive she knows exactly how i feel about her, i just keep my mouth shut to keep the peace, you can choose your mate, but not their family.

My husband's real mom (who left him & his dad because they were "boring") is hard to get along with. His step-mom is a wonderful person, though. She never forgets birthdays or holidays, and loves to spend time with family.
