Considering most dogs clean their backsides with their mouth, I would suggest it is not that safe. Although, many people have suggested that dogs mouths carry less germs than a human mouth...

Oh how sweet! And yep it's safe, although I do agree with another poster, make sure it's not right after your chi has licked or eaten it's poo. eeeep! LOL..

Since your chi loves to give you kisses, you are already halfway there to train your chi to "gimme kiss". Just say that each time he or she gives you a kiss, and tell what a good boy/girl s/he is, and soon s/he will do that on command not just when s/he wants to.

Myst

Some experts say it's not safe. What do they know? My chi kisses us on command. All we have to say is "smoochie" and she kisses us. She sometimes gets excited and sticks her tongue in our mouths when we laugh at her. That's pretty gross. Just keep your mouth shut and I think it's fine. And yes, keep track of the poo-poo eating before the kissing. Totally gross.

all you answerers should know what a 'chi' is if you are even in the dog section, CHI is CHIhuahuahua and it IS safe as long as it hasnt been eating poop or anything, in my opinion it is safe and it is good that your CHI luvs you

all you people should be ashamed of not knowing what a chi is

Well, dogs do put their mouths in some pretty disgusting places, but in fact their saliva is a powerful antiseptic. So all in all it's pretty safe to kiss your dog. At least as safe as to kiss your husband or boyfriend! :)

I assume you're referring to your chihuahua. Anyway, I've heard that dogs' have really clean mouths (seriously). It's the cats that have unclean mouths. I've had a couple of relatives become hospitalized because of catbites.

Dogs use their tongues as their toilet paper.

So go ahead, if you like that idea. Let it kiss you.

If you're into that kind of thing.

Personally,

I'm not.
