I mean, we have all these doctors wrting scripts for abilfy and lexapro, drugs for mental imbalance and depression because science has proven that this person is not mentally sane. But does the "sick" person's brain recognize if it is sick?

Some do some don't. For instance a person with major depression disorder knows that there is something wrong and will seek help.

A person with Narcissistic Personality Disorder would see that there is nothing wrong with them.

A person with this disorder feels a Grandiose sense of self-importance. They think that they are successful, powerful, brillant, beautiful. They have a belief that they should only associate with other special people. They have a lack of empathy and they envy others but won't admit it. They believe others envy them. They are very arrogant.

There are many different disorders where one would feel that there is nothing wrong, or feels that there is something seriously wrong.

Psycholigist have to fill out something called axis. There are four different ones. There must be something on axis one for insurance componys to pay. I was told by my psy. professor that there are people out there that think they have a couple of different disorders when in fact there suffering from just one. They only do this so the person can get help for the one disorder and so the psycholigist can get paid.

I know for a fact that not all psycholgist do this because I went to one when I was having problems when I was married. The ins. would only pay for 3 days. If I would have had a drug problem then the ins. would have paid for longer period of time. I asked the psy. if we could fib so I could continue counseling. He would not do it. He did offer me a sliding fee, which was helpful. I am telling you this because I don't want you to think bad about all psycholigists. There here to help people, but they have house payments too.

What do you mean by his mind? I think mind is under effects of many factors like SOCIETY. when society says "Hey Mind, you are not normal" and the owner of that mind accept it, then we can say that Mind KNOW that she is sick.

I wouldn't think that it would. If it were sick it wouldn't work very well but there are possibilities. I would have to say yes and no.
