I have just checked out sketchup and it seems that they do a version for the mac therefore it is probably a safe bet to say that any files saved in windows can be opened and edited in a mac however if they ship as seperate programs ie both xp and mac don't reside on the same cd then you will probably have to buy the mac version however if both are shipped on the same cd then you shouldn't have any problems installing the program on a mac.

Apples have to be the odd ball in the computer world I know... Anyways it will depend on which files you would like to covert. There is not a program that converts all types of files to a Apple's format.

You will have to find a program to convert files individually.
