What ever you do don't take aspirin, advil or tylenol---its really really bad for your liver and kidneys.
The best way to avoid a hangover is to take a spoonful of honey before you start drinking. Also make sure that you have drank lots of water and eaten recently when you start drinking.
Someone told me once that if you match the volume of alcohol you drink with same amount of water you'll never be hung over. One pint of beer--one pint of water.
Avoiding hangovers is all about prevention. Once your hungover all you can do to fix it is eat and drink water (if you can't sleep). Someone told me that greasy food is good for a hangover.

Hangovers stem from dehydration. So drink plenty of water all day if you know you're going to be drinking that night. Also, I pop an Ibuprofen right before I go to bed after coming home from the bar (if I am too messed up to do this, my husband usually reminds me). This helps prevent the headache by keeping the blood flowing. If I am throwing up the next day, the best thing I can recommend is eating bread. It will help your stomach get back to it's normal flow of things without being to harsh. Just plain loaf bread works well. Me personally, I always drink a glass of iced tea too. For some reason, tea seems to settle my stomach whether the problem is from a hangover, a virus, or any old stomach prob. Also, iced tea is another way to get more water into your body. They do say that caffeine actually is a dehydrating agent though, but it always worked for me in the past. Hopefully all this will help you in the future!

Really their is no relief for a hangover but time, but drinking a liter of water before you go to bed after drinking is about the best. Most of the effects of a mild hangover are from dehydration, a severe hangover is from alcohol reaching a toxic level. When you have a severe hangover you just have to wait for your body to metabolize the alcohol more than likely you won't be able to keep down water.

Any of the sports drinks out there, Gatorade, Powerade, and the like. The help replace the fluids, electrolytes and all that that are lost due to the dehydrating effects of alcohol.
Lots of water can help, as can pain relievers taken before bed.
Also, when drinking, try to have a glass of water between drinks, to help maintain your hydration levels.

Aspirin and gatoraid or pedialyte. Need to replace those fluids.
However I have tried making a 1/2 V8 with 1/2 beer.........seems to ease symptoms real quick, but doesn't solve the hangover problem.
I also know people who drink absinthe....which is an anise/herb wormwood liquor that is highly alcoholic.....don't understand how it works.....must have something to do with the wormwood.

Drink orange juice and eat a banana. Also replace salts by eating something like crisps. Use pain killers (such as good old Paracetamol) to subside the headache so that you can get some nutrition in to your body. If you've drunk a lot your body will take time to repair itself whatever happens. It goes without saying that you need to replace as much fluids as you can - so drink plenty of water.
