You should buy a good quality chocolate with a high cocoa content - something like Lindt or Green and Black. You can add cream and icing sugar to taste if this is too bitter for you - the cream also keeps the chocolate smooth.

Fondue is a favorite at parties and dinner gatherings. Chocolate fondue is especially loved for its sweetness and compatability with many other types of food. Several great items to dip in chocolate fondue include fruit and cake.

You don't need special chocolate. Best to melt it over hot water first. Add a little butter and (for adults) a dash of brandy or whisky.
Try mixing high cocoa content chocolate with white Toblerone.
As with cheese fondue, keep the flame low and keep stirring.
You can dip Madeira cake, apple and pear slices, mandarin segments - well just use your imagination.

You should probably use a chocolate that is made for melting; not using it might cause bubbles in your chocolate.
