I used to live in Trinidad and I miss it every day. Sometimes I put my iPod on the Soca genre and let it repeat all day.
I would say T&T is the perfect holiday for the adventurous type of tourist. People who are looking for resort type crap can stay at home.
Fabulous food, interesting history and beautiful people. I agree, Casey, this place has it all.

Yes. When I was younger, we used to travel over from Grenada. I have family there.
