You're talking about the Old Testament, Jesus Christ is the New Testament and that's the one we follow now. There are still some laws from the Old Testament in the New Testament, like being a homosexual, but in the New Testament by the blood of Christ if you repent, ask for forgiveness, and Jesus Christ to come into your heart you can be forgiven for that, just like any other sin, if you truly repent.

Christ came to set us free to walk in His grace, rather than to be bound by the law which was expressed in the Old Testament.
That was because the law was impossible to keep.

We are now saved by grace, which is not a license to sin, but an invitation to live a holy life through the power of the Holy Spirit.
That is the same spirit which empowers us to be led in the path God chooses for us.

God is love and he who follows love, loves everyone....period....it can only be God's job to judge, because He is the only one that can see into a heart to know a man completely and thus judge him fairly and honestly.

We sometimes think we know enough to usurp God's authority and do His job...that is a self righteous attitude...one like the Pharisees and Sadducees of Christ's time. He wasn't happy with them, and he won't be any happier with us, if we shut the Kingdom up from anyone like they did. The Kingdom if for every man to enter upon sincere repentance and belief.

We have to as not all written in the Bible is the truth. Do you want religion to collapse? The story of Noah & the Arc is the word of ancient ignorant man. We now know that 2 of every species of living things on this planet weighs over 50 million tons. Noah would have needed an Arc a mile long. How many picking and choosing religions are based on the bible? Lots of them. We have sabbaths on Fri, Sat and Sun. based on religion's picking and choosing.

The Bible and the gods are for our convenience only and the religions are our convenience stores! If they are not convenient we shall ignore them.
See what Moses's first book the genesis says about the sky. Moses though t that there was a vault as he saw its center over his head located at a tremendous height and gradually descendint to the level of the ground at the hirizon and so he thought that it was like an inverted bowl and a ceiling. and so he imputed his knowledge to god and wrote as if he was witnessing god commanding "let there be a vault and a vault appeared " it was not only a sttement we would call foolish if some one among us stated and it revealks the fact that what Moses told was a lie as God is portrayed as an ignoramus because of of the lack of knowledge on the part of Moses. So also many things have been written here and there according to the whims and fancies of the persons who said them . Now pork is very well consumed by all chritians all over the world as they find it delicious . thre is no morality or immorality involved in this .Morality and immorality are based on the culture of the people and diferent groups have different standards of morality .In Quron you would fine the propet telling the Muslims that they sahlkl not sleep with the wives of thuier fathers and the daughteers of the wives of thier fathers and that if they have done it in the past Allah , the gracious would forgive and that they shall not do it any more . the culture of the people and the society to which the prophet belonged is revealed in this and it won't be acceptable to all societies which would consider one's sleeping with his mothere and sisters as inchestual heinous crime for which htere could be no rpardon. so all the instructions in all the religous scriptures are not universal turht ans moral codes of any unversal validity and as they are based on the culture of the group to which the persons who creted the scriptures belonged. it is left to indibiduals to accept or reject it

It's not really pigskin by the way.... It is cowhide. And as mentioned previously... When Jesus arrived he told his followers there is a new covenant. One that spreads peace, not hate. One that doesn't follow archaic laws, that make no sense.
I do agree though that some people seem to pick and choose from the bible. It is up to interpretation and your will.

We are as followers of Christ under the New Covenant and no longer under the Jewish laws of the old Testament. WE are still under the laws and commandments that Jesus spoke in the Gospels, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John

Simple, things changed. Before Jesus came the only way we were able to make it into heaven was by the law. Now we are able to by faith. The only "law" that we have to fallow is love God with all your heart and love others

...... I MY SELF DO NOT WORRY MYSELF ABOUT PIG SKIN,, OR GARMENTS... MY ISSUE WITH THIS SUBJECT IS THAT PEOPLE PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT MORALITY THEY CHOOSE TO LISTEN... TOO MANY PEOPLE TWIST THE WORDS ,, AND THEN ONLY FOLLOW A HATEFUL PATH WITH THOSE WORDS... HURTING OTHERS WITH THOSE WORDS .. NOT LOOKING AT THE MANY,, MANY ,, GOOD TEACHING THAT ARE IN THE BIBLE ,, THAT TEACHES LOVE AND GOODNESS... AND THEN TOO MANY LIE,, AND MANIPULATE ,, TWIST THINGS AROUND ,, TOO QUOTE THE BIBLE ,, AND SOME HOW ,, USE GOD ,, TO EXCUSE THEIR OWN BAD BEHAVIOR... THIS IS WHAT MAKES ME UPSET ABOUT PEOPLE ....
