Would he be in the rich and powerful Republican party who has it's hands dipped in big business and rarely supports social programs

Or

Would he be Democrat.A party that has interest in social programs but not always the best intentions for Christians.

Sorry, I should have capitalized the word "was" in my additional details.I know it is hard for people to guess what the Lord Jesus would do in this matter. But use your imagination and make a guess.

Independent Party. It appears in the Bible that he didn't go for the popular views of society.

I doubt social programs would be influential at all in the choice. He would be more concerned about personal decisions and responsibilities. He would probably say that charity is the duty of every person, not the government. Besides, he lived in poverty by choice, and had those that followed him do the same. I don't think he would have accepted government handouts and probably wouldn't want his followers doing so either.

With that being said, if you HAVE to choose some political party, I would say probably the one that is the most hands off, so libertarian. But I also think he would strongly reject the idea of parties.

Nothing is easier than justifying your own position on any given issue by yanking a text from scripture to show that Jesus (or one of his spokesmen) agrees with you. Wasn't there some smartass who quite correctly quoted Jesus as saying "Hang all the laws and the prophets"?

The fact is, once we stop arguing from the inherent sense and decency of our own proposals, and instead refer them to some symbolic "authority" for validation, we lay ourselves open to every kind of fraud and deceit. The Jesus™ brand name has been used to endorse literally everything from mass murder to child rape to the election of George W. Bush.

Basically what I'm saying (if that's over your head) is that it's ridicculous that we should even ask this question. It shouldn't matter which political party Jesus would belong to...lol. And it's too bad that the GOP has hijacked his name to validate their own agenda, but I think it's just as ridiculous to assert that Jesus - the historical first century Jew - would be a Democrat. As for Jesus the mythological "son of god" figure, He'd probably cast all politicians into the lake of fire or something.

Jesus, so a methods as i can tell, isn't a great believer in Democracy. He seems a Monarchist. i think that comes from being "King of Kings and Lord of Lords". If he have been strolling the Earth on the instant, He does no longer vote for every person. There does no longer be any elections. (See that "King of Kings and Lord of Lords" element above.) while you're asking which American Political social gathering has taken positions closer to those traditionally held by skill of the Christian Church... this is fantastically hassle-free. The GOP is not often appropriate, yet by skill of all of the variables possible degree (i.e. church attendance) there is an extremely solid correlation between church attendance and balloting GOP. (in basic terms inspect the Pew center comments on the undertaking.) this is incredibly the only maximum valuable indicator, even extra desirable than race, gender, or financial type. people who often attend church (or synagogue) are two times as probably to vote GOP than Dem. Conversely people who hardly or by no skill attend church are two times as probably to vote Dem. than GOP. It additionally holds actual around the dimensions. The extra frequently you attend church, the plenty extra probably you're to vote GOP. The GOP isn't "the Christian social gathering", yet extra Christians tend to belong to it. The Dems, one ought to arguably say, are the "anti-Christian" social gathering.

If jesus were here, it would be the millenial kingdom, and he would be King.... He would have already replaced all political parites in all countries.

But if he had to choose, he would go republican, and not be inlfuenced by the propadanda you have been told.. most republicans are not rich..... and they were involved in social programs long before the democrats were... example they were involved with civil rights since right afrer the civil war.... blacks used to belong to only the republican party, since that was the only party that treated them fairly... only in recent times, since the 1960's, have the democrats expressed interest in civil rights...

Jesus would not support the abortion (inlcuding partial birth abortion) platform of the democrats, the removal of prayer from public schools, the slander tactics of hillary, kennedy, and john kerry, the establishment of witchcraft as a religion, heavy taxation to support people who refuse to work, or proterrorist activities like blocking homeland security measures, nor the hollywood rich liberals who live godless lives, who are actively anti-american.,,, all democrat activities,.....by the way, the richest people in america are democrats...example George Soros, the billionaire,....the Microsoft guy....to name a few

I am Rational Spirituality,

My answer is "neither". Christ would not get involved in something as dirty and corrupt as politics. He would choose to spread the word of the Truth and lead by his example. If all people had the best interest of everyone else in mind, as Christ does, political parties would not exist. The world would be run by common sense, and there would be justice on Earth.

Political parties, whatever their name, mean bias, nepotism, and abuse of power.
