I'm not a racist or anti-religious person, though I am not religious myself, but this sort of thing always fascinates me & I like a good discussion so be honest with your answers.

Why is it that when muslim graves are ransacked & ruined its being treated as a racist & anti-religious crime but when the same is done to christian graves its seen as petty vandalism & nothing much is done?

Johnny...whoever you are, that is exactly what they said on the news. Where people are buried they're called graves & no-one ever said anything about being buried with valuables, you're the one who should go back to school buddy.

For goodness sake, does anyone watch the news?! Muslim graves have been destroyed in an area in the UK, it has happened! Just because you haven't heard of it doesn't mean its not real! If you haven't heard about it then whats the point in answering?!

Its not the middle of the night, I live in the UK & its actually near midday. I've just seen it on the news & wanted to discuss it! I don't see that that is a crime. I have nothing against any religion, I choose not to be religious I just wondered why they were highlighting it from a muslim point of view when it happens to graves all over the country & actually it was in a town centre.

There could be many reasons though I can only think of one:

We are all getting a bit uptight about Islam. Everybody including politicians are condemning Islam. Therefore, Muslims over the world are a bit..... how should I say..... frustrated......??? They see anything like this against them. A few years back, I should have also thought like this. (that ransacking muslim graves is racist and anti-religious)

The reason it is an act of an anit-religious person or racist is because it was only Muslim graves desecrated. If there had also been christian graves at the same time then its just vandalism, but to single out Muslim graves is racism in anyones book. When christian graves are desecrated and only Christan graves of course it is an act of anti-religion also. What is done when Muslim graves are desecrated that does not happen to Christian graves, the police are involved just the same for both cases they are not treated differently. Are you implying that Muslims have some sort of Superior treatment? If you are you are quiet deluded. When a crime is committed and makes front page news the headline will say "father kills entire family" whether he be a christian, a Jew or a Catholic etc,etc.. But if the exact same crime is committed by a Muslim the headline will always say "Muslim father kills entire family" Anything any Muslim does is always preceded by the fact they are Muslim. Why does it never say "christian father" ask yourself this question. A desecration of any grave is a crime and a violation to the family involved.

First of all you ARE a racist and I would say very likely an ANTI Muslim individual. Otherwise you would not of thought about Muslims grave in the middle of the night. There are thousands other, more interesting and lively things to think about or ask a question about.

Anyhow, here is what I think is a thought that you should think about. Once in a while a stupid drunk or high or psycho kid goes to a Christian graveyard around their neighborhood and messes up someone grave, either for fun or just being mean and stupid (high possibility)

Whereas, Muslim graveyards are always far away from town, if someone is driving hours to get there, there is higher possibility that they went there because they are racist and anti-religious, they went there with one plan to display their hate.

Either way, whatever the reason, ransacking someone grave is the most disguising and hateful act in the world. Shame on those who do such an act. SHAME on those who promote it by asking stupid questing. SHAME on those who felt it was a fascinating thought.

The honor and dignity that Allah has granted to human beings is enshrined in the Noble Qur'an. Allah states; "Definitely We have honored the son of Adam (mankind)......and granted him clear superiority over many of our creations." (Bani Israel). The entire ritual of Janazah in Islam is designed to insure that this honor and dignity remain even after death as is apparent from even a cursory study of the relevant chapter. Anything detracting from this Divinely granted dignity and honor is therefore prohibited. Allamah Tahtawi, a famous jurist of the Hanafi school has stated; "It is not permissible to move the deceased once he has been interred... by Ijmaa' (consensus of opinion of all the Fuqaha') irrespective of how long or short the period since interment might be, as desecration has been prohibited and haram (expressly forbidden), a right belonging to Allah alone. (Tahtawi Pg 614 Qadeemi). In another place, it is stated; "It is not permissible to cause the bones of the deceased to break or to move them, even if the deceased is a Dhimmi (non-Muslim citizen of an Islamic state). His grave may never be desecrated, no matter how much time has lapsed. (i.e how old the grave is)" (Ibid Pg 613). By this it is clear that removal of the deceased without valid reason is haram. An example discussed by the Fuqahaa' is the case where a son is buried far from his home and his mother cannot bear the separation and wishes to have the body re-interred closer to home. Such has been prohibited by the Fuqahaa'.

Removal of the deceased after interment has been allowed in very few situations, some of which have been listed below.

a. The bodies of non- Muslim citizens of country that is at war with the Muslims may be removed or relocated if there is a need. (Ibid Pg 613)

b. The deceased has been interred in a piece of ground seized by him unjustly before his death and the owner wishes the body removed. However, if the owner wishes to make use of the ground (to build or farm on it), he is allowed to flatten the grave and build or farm on it. Desecration is a last resort. (Ibid Pg615)

c. The deceased is interred in a piece of ground that is claimed by another under the right of pre-emption. The ruling here is similar to the above situation.

d. Some wealth or item belonging to another is buried with the deceased and he (owner) has no other wealth or cannot do without that item. If it is possible to remove these in any manner without exposing the corpse, this manner should be adopted.

d. The Kafan (burial shroud) used for clothing the deceased did not belong to him ( was seized unjustly by him before his death) and the owner demands his right.

e. The grave becomes waterlogged. There is a difference of opinion among Fuqahaa' with regards to this particular situation. Faqeeh Abu Laith (R.A) initially permitted it but later on retracted from his ruling. (Ibid Pg 616). And Allah Ta'ala Knows Best

The answer is pretty simple...
Muslims belong to the minorities and any injustice/action against the minorities.. the conclusion is that ..there's a racist hand behind... There are no other options.. but if the same thing is done to another community which holds an upper hand.... there are a lot of possibilities and probabilities..

hahahahaha

1. i have NEVER heard of a Muslim grave being ransacked.
2. i have also NEVER heard of a christian grave being ransacked.

why?

because 1. i doubt muslims, unlike egyptians, ever put anything into their graves. if im in error then please someone (a muslim) correct me

and 2. its not a custom for christians to bury their loved ones with stuff...short of a watch or a ring or something.

the idea of desectration of graves is unheard of, let alone vandalism.

i think youve (amazingly) put too much thought into this.
