Nah, we'd rather make stoopid rules that say you have to keep Sudafed behind the counter. Besides, if we close the border, who's going to wait on the rich Repubicans?

I find that hard to believe. Where are you getting your statistics from? I KNOW that marijuana, cocaine, and heroin come from Mexico because I live in a border state and see it pass through in busts on the news.

Meth is something that is made very cheaply and easily in just about any location (vans, basements, etc) with ingredients that are available at most drugstores and hardware stores. Transporting it would not make sense financially. It is also found in heavy concentration in the Midwest. If it were coming from Mexico, it is highly unlikely that it would make it that far without being intercepted.

With recent bans and restrictions on pseudophedrine products (Sudafed, Claritin, etc) I can see people buying these types of products in bulk from Mexico, especially because they are available without prescription. I find it highly unlikely that they are making the meth there and transporting it. It wouldn't be cost effective or make sense from a criminal logistic point of view.

Of course! On the other hand, don't forget that it's easy to make, and if one route is stopped, it can be manufactured in the US with no problem.
What's more important is to stop the people from coming over. Each one could be a terrorist.
