what a gentleman you are and i'm sorry some of your answers were rude. how kind of you to actually ponder the situation in a manner in which to handle it properly. perhaps you could play it off like you accidentally bumped into the person, thereby arousing them. they will change positions and hopefully curb the snoring. make sure if they wake enough to actually come to and you have to say something, apologize and say "i'm terribly sorry i didn't mean to bump into you". maybe not the best way but it avoids having to say something embarassing and solves the problem!
i hope that helps, probably not a great answer but it was the kindest way i could think of dealing with an annoyance such as that.

If it's really loud, then shake him or wake him to tell him nicely that his snoring loudly. if in a flight, inform the flight attendant.
If the guy won't wake up, bear with it or get other seats.

I usually take earplugs when I'm travelling as I'm not good at sleeping during the travel process and also I don't know when I'm going to need to defend my eardrums against aural assaults.
So I would use earplugs. I used to think they were for old fogeys but truly, they are a marvel.

Start snorting as loud as possible, as if you are clearing your sinuses and throat until she wakes up.
