Am wondering if you have changed anything recently, such as time of day when he gets his thyroid meds, type of and amount of food, any people food, etc.? Changes can upset his lil tummy. And are his teeth in good condition for eating? He certainly has lived to a nice age for a cat, you must be taking very good care of him! I had an elderly cat who couldn't eat anything but very soft people food, such as yogurt and cottage cheese. As they age, cats/dogs just as do people, often find a blander diet than they had while younger agrees more with their tummy, as it's easier for them to digest. As others have suggested, please ask your vet about this too. His being sick a lot after eating might be that he isn't as able to digest whatever his food is as easily as before, and maybe he's trying to eat too much of it too. Or eating too fast. Especially if there's another animal around at the time, it can be that he is stressed out and gobbling his food. Good digestion in an elderly cat depends on a lot. The vet can tell you for certain about your particular cat. There's special food for elderly cats, is he eating one of those? I've found that Iams makes very good food for all the different stages of a cat's life (and dog's too), plus there's nothing added that our pets don't need. No fillers, etc. It costs more, yet definitely worth it in the long run, in my opinion anyway. Let us know what happens, what the vet says too. Kisses and hugs to your lil 15 yr old fur baby. Myst

Before our 18 year old maine coon passed he was doing the same thing .throwing up everytime he ate. An the vet said you know as old as he is and the toothloss that the hard food he would just swallow whole and that would cause it, He recommended putting ours on wet food. But do take your sweetie to the vet just to be sure theres not some type of infection going on."big hugs" to you an your kitty.

Your cat is obviously sick! weightloss in an older puppy is something that must be looked at whilst observed. A cat that prevents ingesting is in extreme hardship. Get your cat to a vet so he could be examined and made delicate. you may pass to the physician in case you felt so ill you ought to no longer eat anymore!

15 years is a long and a very fruitful amount of time for your kitty. I would take him to the vet and see what they say.

Don't get upset now, but cats don't live much above that. Enjoy every day with your cat, and be happy it can live that long.
