I agree that a week in Niagara Falls (unless you're going there to gamble) is excessive. You can do Niagara Falls as a day trip from Toronto, with a stop-over in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Hope that helps!

Toronto, CN Tower is a must. Have an evening meal in the revolving restaurant. A baseball game in the Sky dome, Hard Rock cafe In the Sky dome. Sky dome tour, Ice hockey game. Eaton Centre Shopping, Look out for PATH signs everywhere you can walk all over downtown underground where its warm, the streets above will be deserted! Loads of shops and eating places down there. Take a walk through Chinatown. Trip on the lake. Take a tour bus or train trip. Visit Union Station.
Niagara Falls, I hope you can find enough to last a week! It's like Blackpool for most of the town. However- The Falls - Behind the Falls. Maid of the Mist, Spanish Cable Car, Jet boat through the rapids if it's running? Take a trip to 'Niagara on the Lake' Imax Cinema, I wouldn't bother crossing to the US unless you're desperate, you may need a visa anyway. It's a hassle.

Spending a week in Niagara Falls is waaaaaay too long. You'll have enough of the Falls themselves after two hours, and you'll be penniless after a day in the tourist-trap city.
The Niagara region is beautiful if you're a win afficionado, however, and December is the beginning of the Icewine season. Pick up a catalogue at your hotel of the wineries of the region, and go for a tour.
Seriously though, I would re-plan your itinerary if possible. There isn't that much to do in Niagara for a week. I would actually suggest taking five days out of that week and driving to Montreal or New York.
Toronto is another story....You'll be able to keep busy there.
Again, just ask for ideas at your hotel, and they will be able to recommend a plethora of sights to see.

There is lots to do especially in Niagra but be carefull its a complete tourist trap you are not far from the border to the USA why not visit buffalo if you are driving its like a 3-4 hours drive.Ad your right it will be cold its right in the snow belt. To cross the border head for the Eire bridge crossing point they will charge you a small fee for crossig over i believe ($6 last time i was there a few years ago"
Take in some shows in Toronto just perfect for winter visits and the restraunts :) Great sight seeing too

I would suggest Winery tour. I always take y friends from other city/country to Niagara fall, maid of mist, behind the fall and have winery tour in a day. if you like, Marriot (there's 2 or 3), right over the canadian fall have best restaruant. also lots of winery have day tour or if you like some winery you can stay over the night. I would say you need 2-3days if you really want to see around. you have plenty time to go downtown toronto too. or buffalo for outlet shopping!

Toronto is a very large, well organized city. It is a pretty clean city also. I don't know what you like to do, But it has everything to do. You need to contact the bureau of tourism and they will have the events that are happening there. It is not as interesting as the French towns in Canada, but has plenty to do and plenty to see.
Niagra is very touristy. Has a lot to do. It is prettier in the summer, because they plant an abundance of flowers, unlike one of the ugliest cities in the USA Buffalo across the river.

March 17, 2010. Roy Thomson hall. it is at King and Simcoe. you are able to take the subway and get off at St. Andrew. i might individually wait until the July 8 tutor at Massey hall. i've got faith that's Shuter and Yonge. The acoustics are incredible at that place. some stay albums have been recorded there by potential of different artists.
