The best answer I can give is to quote a line from the great lyricist, Oscar Hammerstein:

"The love in your heart wasn't put there to stay.
'Love' isn't love till you give it away."

if you put a flame under a bushel will it smother?obviusly u know that answer surely but love is not like a fire as we know it however if you speak of mankinds love if you were to seperate men and women and they cant make love then man kind would be in danger of losing its love because for us a part of love is being alive and creating lives but lets say you got alot on your mind and ur at a very irratable time in life and being around someone else only irratates you more it might not be nething wrong but the presence of someone else just rubbs you wrong this is one of those times you just wanna be alone for a while so you go out in the wilderness on some mountain and lets say your an expert survivalist which emotional survival skills are one reason your out there in the first place cuz you know ur irratable and thats not a loveing feeling but alone in apeacefull place relaxes some to dreaming the old dreams of love so will love die?i doubt it sometimes we have to pull our love back and let our voices sream and yelll but our love does not die its just that sometimes love has to hate enough to be angry enough to smack the gun outa someone elses hand and sometimes you gotta be irratable especialy when someone else is trying to walk all over you but there are some who are so loveing that they would let you walk all over them they might be upset and hurt but they are not mad at you so you might not know if ur treating them wrongly but then someone else comes along and they get pisst off like they should and they make it known to you vigorusly that youll see and understand because respect is also love but lets say you were lost at space but you have all that you need to live and survive away from the world no mattar how far out you travel i doubt very highly that you would stop loveing or that it would die but you would definately be starving for someone maybe anyone when you return and you would probly be a very highly desprate person but a very highly gratefull person cuz youve had all that time out there to realize the things you have takin for granted but love would not die and even if you dont see it its always there and if it sees a big job ahead then it works out and collects more strength and when it comes back to your knowelegde it comes fully equipt and more powerfull cuz youve been possed by something and its not the usual small fry so it takes more love to bring you back outa the wrong path and love will do what it has to even if being alone for a while is what the doctor orderd

Yes. Anything precious that you stifle will die eventually.

Of course.

Many people like to hold their love so close to them in fear it may disappear. What they don't seem to realize is that everything needs space to breathe. And when you cling to something so tightly, you break it. It becomes shattered. Nothing like it used to be. And you have no one to blame but yourself.

.......... I LOVE YOUR QUESTION ,,, IT IS A GOOD ONE ,,, AND TRICKY TOO,, IT COULD GO BOTH WAYS... I BELIEVE IT COULD DIE OR FADE AWAY A LOT... JUST LIKE EVERY THING ,, NEEDS WATER,, FOOD,, AIR ,,, FOR ENERGY ,, TO LIVE... I BELIEVE IT IS POSSIBLE THOUGH TO BARRY IT REALLY DEEP INSIDE ,, SO DEEP THAT '' YOU CAN"T EVEN FEEL IT OR IT SEEMS TO NOT BE THERE... BUT IF IT WAS EVER TRUE LOVE ,, THAT A PERSON HAS ,, I BELIEVE IT IS POSSIBLE TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE AGAIN.... ( I LIKE JAKE"S QUOTE ,, HE USED ALSO.. )
