It's easy. Go to supermarket, buy a duck.
Unwrap it, wipe it over with damp kitchen paper and dry it. Get a roasting tin, put a wire rack in it, place duck on rack, now prick duck all over with a sharp fork. Cook as per instructions on wrapper (i say this because I don't know what size or type of duck you've bought) beware when taking out of oven, there will be a lot of fat in the roasting tin.
When cooked, leave out of the oven covered for half an hour, then slice meat off the bird and shred on a plate with two forks. This is far cheaper than buying it from a chinese take-away or ready cooked from a supermarket

Tesco Finest do a good Peking duck, but it's better to find a really good takeaway that knows what they're doing.
It generally doesn't come pre-shredded - but if it's properly cooked, you should be able to tear into the tender flesh and crackly skin with a pair of forks (point them in at the same place, and pull away from each other) and rip it all off in seconds.
Don't forget to give a little gnaw to the bones or use them as a stock base -tons of flavour!

Duck is either best cooked really fast, in the case of just a breast, but a whole duck will benefit from longer slower cooking to tenderise, and then a blastt of heat to crisp up the all-important skin. Many chefs recommend boiling or steaming the duck first, THEN roasting it. As a side issue, if this is a wild duck, you might find it tastes rather unpleasantly fishy, as ducks in the wild eat so much fish. Commercially produced and farmed duck is the best to go for. Roast it, and serve with either orange sauce or cherry sauce. A really good way to make a cherry sauce is to buy a jar of very high fruit content and good quality cherry jam, and simmer this slowly with some red wine. Trust me it works, and is so simple!

A Chinese restaurant or takeaway. Or you could always cook it and shred it yourself.

It would be easier to buy a whole one, cook it yourself and shred it that way. Its much more tasty and fresh. If you dont have the recipe, have a look on the web.
