*
o [From "On the Jews and Their Lies",1543]

* And to fill the measure of their raving, mad, and stupid folly, they boast and they thank God, in the first place, because they were created as human beings and not as animals.
o [From "On the Jews and Their Lies",1543]

* Now just behold these miserable, blind, and senseless people.
o [From "On the Jews and Their Lies",1543]

* So it became apparent that they were a defiled bride, yes, an incorrigible whore and an evil slut
o [From "On the Jews and Their Lies",1543]

* They are full of malice, greed, envy, hatred toward one another, pride, usury, conceit, and curses against us Gentiles.

someone said "a true christian will not hate the Jews.they are gods chosen people"
Then why don't you convert to Judaism, so you would be one of the chosen ones too?
Just wondering? truly no offense is intended.

to evaluated this there are some considerations to explore.....

1. taken in context, there were times recorded in the bible, when even God complained about the Jews Himself, because they would sin so much. This caused Him to punish them at times in order to get them to repent. It must be remembered that the sins of the Jews were no different than the sins we commit today, so we are all guilty of the same things at times..

2. Martin Luther was speaking as an individual man at the time, and not representing the Word of God, his personal views and biases...While he was reflecting a cultural prejudice, which was wrong, he may have been right in some other things...however, this is not ideal, and he should not have expressed any bias, and he should have been more fair to others....In this context , he was not representing other protestants in their personal beliefs...

3. Many catholics in the middle east are of arab desecent, and any anti-semitism expressed is more racially based. This is also wrong...any christian is supposed to put the ideals of God and Christ first in their lives, and their own personal opinions second.

4. Martin Luther lived a few hundred years ago. Protestants, like most people, are more educated now, where education is available, and they can think more for themsleves. They therefore do not depend on the personal bias of Martin Luther or anyone...

5. Anti-semitism today is more racially influenced, in places where racial slurs are made. It is also a product of Islam, which teaches anti-semitism. Being immune under such influences really requires the presence of God in one's life, so that God's will and views are more important, than the negative influences around them.

6. according to Jesus, no christian should hate the jews, but embrace them.

The Lutheran Church (in the U.S. at least) has officially repudiated those particular writings of Martin Luther. There's even a Lutheran minister who's taken it upon himself to travel around the country, speaking about it. He said that Luther was old, ill, in significant pain and didn't like anyone very much when he wrote them. This minister was deeply distressed by the fact that "our beloved Martin" had written them and that they had been used before and during the Holocaust to further raise hatred against Jews.

I think the last pope apologized too, finally, for what the Catholic Church did do and what they failed to do during the Holocaust.

A true Christian hates no one, But I have met Christian Biggots who hate Jews, When I ask then why, they reply the Jews killed Christ. Well Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Christ put on this Earth to die on the Cross and take the Sins of Man?. If Christ hadn't died on the Cross then there would be no such thing as Chrisitianity. So it was the Jews actions that created Chrisitianity. It should also be remembered that Christ himself was a Jew as was the 1st Pope St Peter.

Well, I'm a Catholic, and considering that Jesus was Jewish, as was His mom, Mary, as were most of the Apostles, as were 99% of early Christians, I don't think I hate them. I'd go as far to say that I worship the former, venerate the median, and esteem highly the latter.

I suspect that most other Christians feel the same way.

Neither. Christians are taught to love one another as Jesus loves you, to respect and cherish life. There are many avenues people take in the Christian religion, including Catholicism. We are taught respect for each and every human being. Christians do not hate Jews even though we don't agree with their doctrine.

Martin Luther was a terrible anti-semite, but remember he was raised and trained in the Catholic religion before he became a Christian.

Neither because all of christiandom is to uphold, and protect the first of God's people. In revelations any nation that is against Israel will spawn not only the anti-christ, but will perish in the end days.
