Kelleygai:
It's not that you have to accept Jesus to go to heaven... it's that the Christ is the only way to our Holy Father and His Kingdom.
There have been billions of men and women born before the Christ and there have been billions of men and women after the Christ was crucified. Literally billions have not heard of Jesus and His salvation. Ignorance of God does not exclude anyone of His Kingdom.
The Christ Jesus knows our hearts, every individual who has breathed in their soul the Christ knows.
On our judgement day there will be pagans dancing at the feet of God in a pure ecstasy they never thought possible because the Christ knows the man or the womans' heart and He knows that these pagans did the best they could with what little they had and what little they knew... they did "the best they could". I am sure that during the joy of these people who knew nothing of God,(many of them wouldn't even know about the simple concept of air!) there will be a vast amount of "so called christians" standing outside the perimeters of God's kingdom crying and screaming because the Lord Jesus said "I do not know you" and they know that they are going to spend eternity without our Holy Father, outside of His Kingdom.
So. Do you have to accept Jesus? Yes. You know of Him and you have access to so much more than these pagans. Access to a vast amount of information. You are literate. You are educated. You are intellegent. You understand the simple concept of air. To whom much is given much is required. You have so much that it could be said... when it comes to knowledge you have a great deal more than Plato, and Socrates themselves. Their philosophies were great, and they were great thinkers but did they actually understand heavier than air flight? Did they know the principles of electricity? No they didn't; that doesn't mean they were stupid it means they were ignorant of what you take for granted. Those two men did the best they could with what they had.
You however have the word put before you and God knocking on your door. Now make a decision; open the door and get ready to put your brain into high gear; or leave the door shut.
If you open the door to the Christ darlin you're going to need every bit of your brains and heart to figure out what is false and what is true and how to apply the truth to your life.
I hope this answer satisfies you and I hope you make and stand by the right decisions.

As a Baha'i, I believe they will be judged based on their acceptance of the Message of God as they understand it -- whether it was delivered by Jesus, Mohammed, Zarathustra or Baha'u'llah. I believe there is a difference in God's sight between not hearing the message and hearing and rejecting the message. Baha'u'llah says that after death we will realize the consequences of our actions. I think that for those who rejected it, it would be horrible to realize that they had rejected God's Messenger and they will suffer shame and regret for that.
Besides, many were born before Jesus came -- do you think a loving God could be so cruel as to condemn them to hell through no fault of their own?

I've always wondered about that... I'm starting to wonder if there really is a god. I do however 100% believe in the afterlife I get EVPs and all kinds of stuff. but that's another test to see if you are truly faithful to the lord... I guess.

Everyone is givin the opprotunity to accept Jesus Christ as there lord and savior. Many in Iran have learned the truth of Jesus and accepted him as there savior, however in Iran and many other places, they are put to death for this.

What about the millions who lived their lives before Jesus was born? I'm sure Christianity has an excuse for them.

I'm sure everyone will get the opporutunity after they die and are standing in front of Him. Jesus did not just die for Christians only, and John Calvin was dead wrong, God does not predetermine people to hell.

"Accepting Jesus" only means that Christ is our true Self; thus, there is only One Reality (a multitudinous, infinitely creative reality). This has been twisted into a "If you don't follow me, you're damned" doctrine. "Only through me" means there is only one "destination", and that is God, and God is All That Is.
