I use winxp. my comp screen goes blank suddenly. when i restart, it doesn't ask for scandisk.?

restarts as usual without scan disk. what could be the problem? is it hardware or software problem? will someone enlighten me please. thanks

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.

LOL! Did you get used to win.98?
click start button go to my computer right click on C:drive in the drop down list that comes up go to the bottom and click on properties click on the tools tab then click on defragment now.It's the same thing as scan disk was in win.98 version. You can also use the error checking just click on the check now button.On the general tab you can use disk cleanup.You want to use these on a regular basis for sure to help keep your computer performing the way it should.And in short you have no problem and in win xp scan disk doesn't pop up on it's own like it did in win 98 version.So NO PROBLEM!
