Who's democracy?

Question

Are you sure the middle east will ever be 'democratized'? If yes what kind of democracy do you think will strive there?
I know for sure that Islam is not totally against democarcy but most moslem states do by nature of their culture not Religion.
My question is are we going to win this war, and if we win will that change the dynamic in the region what is your take on this?

friend, it is a really delicate question. i am no seer, so i can't predict whether you will be winning the war or not, but if you have a great general, the best firearms, and the most wonderful strategist in your military force, then there are ample chances of you winning the war.

the dynamic in the religion, as you put it, cannot be changed overnight by winning or losing the war. As the "Dynamic" has been developing over a long time-period, it needs time to change, either in a positive or a negative way. hope that answers your question?! good day!

Democracy is a threat to the tribal and religious leaders , who tell them what to do and how to think .
That's really what terrorism is about .
The leaders want what western civilization can give them in matterial things , cars , tanks , jet planes , money but deny the people the schools , justice , freedoms of the west .
They see the west and Isreal as a threat to their control of the people , that the people are getting ideas of their own .

The idea was to raise enough hell and we'd leave , like the Britsh and French did after WW2 . The britsh and French controled the middle east and N. Africa after the Ottoman Empire failed .

The political and religious leaders see westernization as a loss of power .
Democracy is a loss of power , people thinking for themselves is a loss of power .
Knowing they couldn't win standup fight , they resort to supporting terrorists to do the fighting .
In time all these leaders will fall and democracy ( the people ) will
prevail , simply because you can't stop an idea

Your question needs to be clarified.

There is democracy in Islam but within the context of Islamic percepts. Also, because there is no compulsion in religion (Quran 2:256), technically, if the majority of the people lose their faith, the Islamic framework would be gone and transformed to secular democracy that you see in Western countries.

If you think this war has anything to do with democracy, you must be very naive. Democracy means the rule of the people, and I don't think you have that in US. Your media which includes TV networks, newspapers and magazines and radio, etc. filter the news and are very biased in that they cater to the interests of the very rich and the deceitful Zionists who form a very small portion of the population. Winning this war means expansion of US/Zionist imperialism, so BECAUSE I advocate genuine democracy, I hope this war is lost.
