Because deep down, you know you can. Good example: A couple years ago I was living in Virginia and I fell head over heels in love with a girl. Unfortunately due to certain situations, I could never be with her, a large part of which was the fact that I was too nice and not confident enough, and she felt bad walking all over me so she cut it off (even though I was so clouded that I would have gladly signed up for more abuse). However, I stayed easy to reach and find without giving her an ounce of attention. I figured that she had her chance. When she would call, I would give her the same nonchalant careless attitude that she used to give me. Now she's becoming head-over-heels for me, because I just don't care anymore and now I, not she, is the apple out of reach.

oh I do it too. It's horrible i know.
Firstly I do it because my fantasies and dreams with this person will never betray me by waking up to reality since I'll never be with him.
He is and will reamain flawless therefore I will be able to compare him with others and always remain the champion of my preferences.
It's a dream that I will never have to struggle for, deal with and fight with reality to make it mine.
I know it sounds confusing but the lustre of the untouchable is what beautifies our boring lives.

It's human nature we always want what we cant have..
Have you noticed when you're single women for the most part won't give you the time of day.. but when you're with someone they practically throw themselves at you..

There are two possibilities: One, you know that they are unattainable, and therefore you aim high to improve your development. Or, two...you are working on self-fulfilling prophecy and you are destined to be a failure. You choose which you want to believe. Whether you think you can, or you think you can't...you're right!

Maybe it is some type of self-preservation thing, or perhaps a way to subconsciously escape a serious relationship.

why do we all fall for ppl we can't be with. and if you ask almost any one they will say i had a crush on my spouse before we started dating. i think its our way of just adding more drama to our lives.
