Sounds like a great person to have cats like--they are lucky to know him. If he isn't adopting cats like crazy and care for the ones he has it's okay to be cat-crazy.

Wow your'e going to be the bad guy if you make him get rid of any of his cats. Can he afford them and does he feed them all and have them checked by a vet. Most cities have by-laws regarding the amounts of cats an owner can safely keep, for the cats and well as himself. My sons are cat lovers, but their limit is two, my eldest son wanted another kitten just last week, and I asked him right away can you afford more vet bills and more food. He then realized that he couldn't, and stopped thinking about another kitten. My advice to you is find out what the limit is in your city and if he is way over it ( and you have the nerve) call animal enforcement yourself. But ask yourself these questions. Does he really have to many, are they not being properly taken care of. And most importantly, why do you want him to get rid off them. You'll only be doing him and yourself any good if they are not being taken care of properly, but you didn't mention that. He might just replace what is taken from him. Try enjoy the cats and accept that that is the way he is. Sounds like a guy with a big heart. Would you really want to hurt him. I don't envy you with your issue but maybe just try and get involved with him and the cats it could bring you closer. Good luck

I agree with Katrina, if he is a true hoarder he need professional help. if he gets the humane society to take them away, he'll end up there again without help.
if he is coming home with more just to have more cats, not getting them fixed and there mating, his house is dirty cause there's so many, or if they act wild cause there not socialized, then you have a real problem.
but if he has more cats than what your ideal situation is( I think 1-9 cats if fine, I perfer 2 or 3 personally), and there all being taken care of properly like getting fixed, vet check ups, clean litter box's and there getting loved. What's the harm?
If this is the case I would have a serous talk with him and tell him how many you would like to have. asking him to let some go is to much for him, just ask him not to get anymore when they pass on sounds better.

It depends on how many he has. If he's a hoarder, he needs professional help. And hoarders aren't hard to spot; they already have an abundance of cats, and just keep taking in new ones. It's a compulsion. But if we're just talking about a few cats (1-9) with no intention of bringing in more, I would just let him have his cats. Be thankful you have a man that loves cats so much....they're awesome guys:)

How many is many? Are they inside or outside cats? Not many men like cats, so I would appreciate the softer side of him. But they do say cat lovers are more selfish ppl and dog lovers are more needed. Im a cat lover, so thats where i fit in. he probably will never get rid of them for you, I would try and convince him not to take any more in ~ good luck and enjoy!

I think you should love him the way he is and stop trying to change him. He's a cat lover, and cat lovers don't go well with cat dislikers. You shouldn't try and change the person you're with, you should love them the way they are. You'll only cause tension in your relationship. I'm sure you don't understand this, but he cares about his cats a lot and he would probably feel some sort of anger towards you for making him get rid of his cats.

Chances are,if he's obsessed with them and if it comes down to a choice of you or getting rid of a few,he will choose the cats. So,either you are going to have to put up with it,or get out while the gettin's good. Sorry.

Oh I like the Cat Woman answer. Dress up as her and drive him crazy!! Other than that, stop trippin. I hardly see him being a cat lover as a problem. Better than being an extreme woman lover.. ya know..
