(Same goes for any religion) I just want to know why nothing is being done about all the harrassment being done in R&S?

You know what, calling anyone names is not appropriate. Niether is using derogatory terms for other people. If you disagree with someone you don't have to put on your dunce cap and show everyone how immature you are to get your point out there.

In case some of you persist in thinking that I am only citing christians are the only ones being harrassed, you need to re-read what I posted above.

I totally agree with how you feel here. I believe that people should (learn to) respect one another, no matter how different we are. And we ARE created to be different!!! And differences SHOULD be respected and tolerated. I also think that people should stop harrassing others just because they are different. This applies to EVERY case.

If you tallied the amount of harassment that staunch Christians give members on other areas of this site, I'm positive that you'd find that Christians on this site are being bigger bullies than the atheists.

Just food for thought.

I am a Christian, but some of the behavior I see in other Christians (especially on this site) seriously appals me.

If you want something to be done, just make sure to report posts that step over the line. There's nothing else you can do.

Someone reported me several times and I have never once called anyone a name. So I ask why I am being harrassed because I am not a christian?

It is being done. Actually, I am seeing them pinpointing more people outside of Christianity than within. Unless the Christian is actually getting out of hand. But I have seen several of those outside of Christianity get locked out of Answers because of some of their questions. Now, not all of their questions follow the rules here, but others have posted questions that don't follow the rules and they don't get deleted.

As for calling names, I don't let something like that get to me. I have seen many general questions and answers that target anyone who believes in the supernatural, calling them gullible, stupid, etc... It does nothing to me.

What I suggest is if something like that bothers you, ignore it and move on. It's not worth worrying about a bunch of strangers online giving their opinions about another group.

I can?

Sorry - didn't read the whole thing. Harassment is not only being "done" to the religious people here - the wiccans, pagans, agnostics, and atheists get more than their share too. Wanna see real harassment? Go look in the politics thread. We got nothin' on those people.

Pretty much - see, religion is supoposed to be a deep, individual thing, and when you lash out forcing everyone to behave like you, then you get a slap back at your face... if you were truly religious, you wouldn't feel the need to beat everyone on the heads with your big sign "Look at me, I am a good Christian girl"

Then Christians must stop calling others names like sinners and what have you, must we report a Christian every time he calls someone a sinner? Either practice what you preach or accept the consequences I guess, Treat others as you would have them treat you.

'Tis better to tie up the telephone lines of the televangelists pitching for money so they can use their tax-exempt status to rip off poor people while they accumulate obscene riches and live like royalty all in the name of religion.

Because god created "us christians" to prove the love he has for them. Though we are not perfect and make mistakes, the world still chastizes us for it, and condemns us for it because we're supposed to be "perfect". I tried walking on water--but I learned how to swim real fast.
We forgive and pray for those who curse us, for the sake of Gods blessing(s).

Matthew 5: 11
Blessed are you when they revile you and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake
Luke 6: 22
Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man's sake
1 Peter 2: 19
For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God, one endures grief, suffering wrongfully

1 John 4: 20-21
If someone says "I Love God", and hates his brother, he is a liar, for he who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? 21) And this commandment we have from him: that he who loves god must love his brother also.

So you see...regardless of the persecution, we are to endure the harassment...just as Jesus did before he went to the cross to prove the love he has for us.

Hang in there! The blessings God has for us, far outweighs what this world can throw at us.
