I've always wondered-
If you have sex before marriage to a person (they were your first) and you end up marrying and never having sex with anyone else but this person your whole life-
Is that still considered a sin?
Just wondering.

I'm an atheist, I'vejust always wondered what the policy on that was. I would have thought it was more of a grey area than it seems it is...

In the strictest religious terms yes. But when does a marriage really start after we sign to tell everyone else that we are married, or when we know it for our selves.

Yes, it is still considered a sin. Though, in ancient times, when a couple were going to get married, they didn't have a ceremony..... they slept with one another. And that is what made them married. According to Jewish belief in Those times. Of course, as society changed and religion tried to change with it, the idea of marriage changed. Look at how many in the Old Test had several wives AND concubines (which were more like sex slaves than anything else). Yet, today, they will tell you that is a sin as well.

Any sexual gratification obtained apart from ones own husband or wife is sin...but remember ALL sin but one can be forgiven simply by repenting and asking GOD to forgive you.
Some may ask why is it a sin if you end up marring the one that you had sex with, especially if he or she is the only one. Well, the divorce rate is lowest for those who waited for marriage and it sets and example for your children and those around us. If we wait for marriage, we will also build more self control so we are less tempted to stray after marriage too. It shows we value each other to wait. True love...does wait....
