Depression can be caused by many things. A difficult past or being sick etc. Maybe it's the anniversary of something that happened? If your a woman it can be simply hormones, etc. It can be a build up of smaller things that are going on right now. Maybe the up coming holidays? The main thing is that your depressed and need to know why, try to think about what's going on right now in your life. Are you happy with your current life style? Work, home, etc. Maybe consider seeking counceling to figure out what is going on? Or just try to redirect? Have yourself a good cry, scream if you need to and hang in there. You will be able to figure this out in time. This particular time of year is most difficult for most who have lost someone close to them, your are definetly not alone! Smile!!!!!!!!!!!

Some current research suggests exercise can actually change your brain chemistry. One recent study found that a good workout can boost your level of serotonin, a brain chemical that is linked to mood. Intense exercise can also stimulate the production of endorphins, natural painkillers that can sometimes make you feel euphoric.
A 2005 Yale University study found that exercise increases neurogenesis--the growth of neuronal brain cells--and stymies the effects of aging and depression.
This works so well for me! Get out and move!

Try not spending so much of your time thinking about yourself. Do something helpful and productive with your free time, like volunteering to help the homeless. They'll appreciate your effort and you'll start feeling a lot better about yourself and your life. Volunteer work also looks great on job resumes and college applications.

You are not alone my dear! there are so many for varied reasons.
Do not sit in a corner of a room. Go out! Look around! you will notice people who have no place to rest ,food to eat & clothes to wear. At least you are blessed with technology to lean and people to console you. I hope god has created you with out any handicap. Think of those with disabilities.
Think of those confined to mental hospitals with brain disorder, At least you have a good brain that made you ask a question in the forum. Pray god ! It is like a pasing cloud.
Wish you happiness

Get outside and get some exercise. If you have people around you, try telling them about your problems and try to get them to pamper you for a week with breakfast on bed and such. Try not to sit on the couch or lie in bed too much, because inactivity will only add to your depressed feelings.
Best of luck!

Listen to some music you like and smile. I can be feeling like total s**t but then I hear some music and it just disappears. Really it can be anything that makes you happy.
