honestly I don't think theres too much..
a genuine interest is probably a little more evolved but I dont know many people who admit to having a crush on someone that aren't already genuinely interested. Especially having crossed the point of telling someone they have a crush on someone. Usually if they talk about it, they talk about it in hopes of...
Usually when I see a distinction being made between the two, someone has been cornered

A crush is something of the chemical matter. When you are around your crush you feel an intense sensation which makes you want to jump his bones. A genuine interest is more of a psychological matter. You find (through logic) that this person and yourself are quite compatible.
How do you know you have meet Mr. Right?
When you have a crush on him and he seems like a genuine interest,

A crush is like puppy love where you dont think much about how well youd work out together, And a genuine interest is where it is most likely more realistic.

A crush isn't usually as serious. Not to say it can't turn into one but usually you don't go after a crush as hardcore. A genuine interest you go after with both barrels and go out of your way to impress....flowers, dinners, the whole nine yards. Crushes usually you don't spend much money on. Obviously this is an opinion but I hope it helps! Good luck!! }:-)

A crush is a passing infatuation; it may pass depending on what the target of your affection do, or how he/she act, or simply if you find someone you like more, or it just may run its course over time and fade away all by itself.
Genuine interest does not fade away; it's permanent (or long-lasting). It is you saying you really like something about that person and being attracted to him/her because of it. It is not love, mind you, but it can lead you to it.
Genuine interest is always better than a crush, in my opinion.

A crush is based on appearances or just a limited knowledge of someone's personality. They tend to be impractical or inappropriate socially. Genuine interest is based on a more thorough knowledge of who they are and what they are like.

Usually when I have a crush, I'd wonder what my life would be like if I was going out with her. If I had a genuine interest, I'd just wonder what she was truly like underneath (personality and characteristics ofcourse...not her body hehehe)
