Get laminates. They are thin very strong and cheaper than fillings or crowns, and the results are spectacular!

If, like you say, that the enamel has worn down and the underlying layer that is showing through is looking brown, it most likely appears that your dentin ( or the layer under the enamel) is burnished.
The best option would be to get a ceramic crown.
Good luck and God bless.

It's not worn down to the brownish layer, there is no brownish layer and enamel doesn't wear away, it can be eroded by cavities though. What you most likely have are stains on your teeth, if it bothers you get them whitened.

SETH, YOU HAD STATED THAT THIS "BROWNISH LAYER UNDERNEATH" IS FROM ENAMEL THAT WAS WORN AWAY. WHEN SOMEONE BRUSHED TOO HARD, WHAT IS WORN AWAY IS THE DENTIN, (NOT ENAME-WHICH VERY HARD), IS YELLOWISH IN COLOR. IF THIS IS THE CASE, THEN FILLINGS TO COVER UP THE DEPOSITS IN ORDER.HOWEVER YOU ONLY MENTIONED YOUR TWO FRONT TEETH, THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT THE THING YOU SEE IS EITHER CALCULUS OR STAINS.. PLEASE SEE A DENTIST.

If it is worn down on the biting edge that means you have excessive wear down to the pulp.
Go to the dentist, and have him/her figure out what is causing this excessive wear to your teeth as well as treating them.

If the brown spot is on the front/facial part of your teeth this is probably staining or caries - then you need restorative treatment (fillings)
