Christians believe in God, Jesus, Holy Spirit and The Bible. We cannot scientificly proof that what we believe in is true, we call it faith and our religion.
Atheiest believe in evolution, they cannot scientificly proof that evolutions is true, so you have to make it your belief.
If we christians calls our beliefs our religion, and the atheists do the same thing, why dont the atheists call evolution their religion

Evolution may not have all the answers or be able to prove prime causes, such as the original creation of first life. However, it does not claim to provide such answers. Science provides the best possible explanation based on experimentation an observation. If more information is discovered, the notions of science will have to be reformulated. This has occurred several times since the split of secular research from the Church sponsored research. You say, "What I believe is true because I have faith in it." Science says, "This is what we think may be true to the best of our understanding at this time."

Interestingly enough, before Darwin, no one in the Church doubted evolution. It was obvious, as Europeans encountered millions of species throughout the rest of the world, that Noah could not have had them all with him on the Ark. Therefore, all the finch-like birds in the world must have evolved from the archetypal finch Noah had along with him. The questions church fathers were asking were a)what is the mechanism for evolution and b)how long does evolution take. It was only when Darwin proposed a mechanism, Natural Selection, which requires no intelligent designer to operate it, that the fit hit the shan.

No, evolution is NOT science - biology is. But, science TESTS the theory of evolution and admits errors and moves on; believers in any religion are not allowed to question the existence or the essence of god, they (therefore, you) have to simply accept that whatever the church says is true - it's called "dogma." However, church has to adjust that "truth" every once in a while because science proves them wrong, so, for example, angels became metaphors in the 19th century or later, but until then everyone knew - had to know - that angels were 100% real creatures. Ditto for the god being in the sky - NOW the church calls it a metaphor, but for 1800 years they foprced people to believe there was actually a huge old man floating where today space station Mir is. So, that's why - atheists test their theoriesw and learn from their mistakes; Christians never admit their mistakes until cornered, and aren't allow to question anything.

Your premise is wrong. Atheism is not a religion. An atheist is anyone who dose not believe in the existence of god or gods. That's it! However, if you want to call atheism a religion then an atheists would question all untested claims, either natural or supernatural, not just evolution. Whereas, there is overwhelming scientific evidence for evolution to some extent a belief is necessary - the belief in science and human inelegance for instance. Let all of us, who can, enjoy the beauty of this planet, wherever it came from, because we're not here for that long you know!

Evolution is a fact that even Christians accept. The thing Christians cannot accept is that human race evolved from another animal. I am a Christian Orthodox and I live in a still very religious country (Greece). You cannot imagine what criticism we have here in matters like that. My POV is that God did not just came down and created the Earth we know now. It is proven that the animals of our time are evolved from other much older and different animals and is an oxymoron to think that with humans something like that did not happened, especially when we know now that Humans and Apes share 99% of their gens. I don't believe God has the form and the plan that Earthly religions claim and they will never say anything anything different to us, because organized religions are the biggest multinational companies ever existed on this planet

The scientific method is never about proof. It is about disproof. A hypothesis is stated. If experiments or observation do not disprove it, the premise survivies for further testing. If it survives repeated testing, it can be enlarged upon and tested again. Eventually, if it develops into a system of theses, it may reach the status of a theory. Very occasionally, a concept is shown to be so basic to understanding the rest of science that it is referred to as a "law" of science. But scientists do not assume that they "know" something just because it hasn't been disproven. They are always ready to revise their understanding when unexpected information comes their way.

This willingness to change one's mind is regarded as some kind of moral failing by some believers, if not the whole notion of uncertainty. Believers require absolute, unchanging answers, and when they don't find them in the natural world, they seek them with the eyes of faith. (An uncharitable person might say they make them up.)

I would suggest that exactly what one believes is not as critical to one's"religion" as how that belief causes one to behave.

Because religion implies we all believe roughly the same things. We don't. The only thing we all have in common is non-belief in "God". That is hardly enough to make a religion out of... And there are far too many books on evolution for us to pick just one to follow....

I can't speak for all atheists, but for me atheism is also a disbelief in religions of all kinds, not just christianity. Christianity, however, is what made me an atheist. So, thanks for that!

Whoaa whoaa whats up with everyone throwing their thumbs down at you?? Its a simple question. And a simple answer. Athiests do now want to be bound to any kind of religious group. Also, a religion normally has a connection with a higher power. Evolution has no such thing, unless you consider Energy as that thing. (Cuz it started everything we have now with the Big Bang in their eyes.)

Evolution is a scientific theory not a religion. However, many who believe in evolution are not atheists. These people believe in God but not necessarily a religion. Who created evolution? God. Who created the cosmos? God. Albert Einstein was not a religious man but he believed in a Supreme Power that we call God. One does not have to be a person who believes in the bible (old and new) to believe in God. Evolution is a scientific theory with an accuracy of about 98% and according to this theory it all started with various elements coming together and forming a life form. OK. Who made the elements? GOD.

Acceptance of a supernatural claim tends to promote cooperative social relationships. This communication demonstrates a willingness to accept, without skepticism, the influence of the speaker in a way similar to a child's acceptance of the influence of a parent. By encouraging this kind of behavior where the most intense social relationships occur it facilitates the lack of skepticism and deters more open minded thinking. They are christian, Muslim or the other religions depending where they were born simply because they were indoctrinated by their parents as very young children. They will go on to indoctrinate their own children and those will go on to indoctrinate their grandchildren! Atheists have the intellect to see through the conditioning and escape into the real world! Agnostics have the intellect to see through the conditioning but lack the courage to throw of the conditioning entirely. Sadly Christians, muslims and others are still held firmly prisoner by the self perpetuating brainwashing!

You are wrong. Evolution to a large extent has been scientifically proven. What isn't known yet are some of the smaller details. Religion on the other hand is totally about belief. Religion is based upon superstition and mythology and has not one shread of concrete evidence to support anything about it.
