a gram negative bacteria that includes several free living species in soil and water and some opportunistic pathogens isolated from wounds,burns,and infections of the urinary tract.
this is a major problem in many hospitals now because of the spread by health care workers not washing thier hands. it is very hard to treat as it has become resistant to antibiotics.
