sounds like you are both quite young & placing too much importance on these words WAY TOO SOON
also you should be saying these things without expecting him to repeat the words back to you
if you ahve only just started dating then take your time & if things are meant to be then ""love "" will develop between you

Some days you just don't feel all "mushy in love", so why say it if it is not the emotion you are feeling currently. When you start to say it all the time because you feel obligated, those words start to lose their meaning.
With that being said; if you guys JUST started dating; it is very likely that you are not"in love" quite yet. love takes time; You may be confusing lust or deep liking with love. It is possible that he realized that the thing he was feeling was not quite love yet. Give love time, it doesnt happen overnight.

Usually to even say the word "love" is just too much for us to handle. If you want to keep him then I think you should back off and let him be. Maybe ignore him for a while...in a good way like don't talk to him online and only respond if he speaks to you.

How old are you? 14-15 ?
The guy seems very mature. He's not going to say something he probably knows nothing about. To love requires experience. Without years of trying of unfold its mysteries, it's impossible to recognize what it really is. To you, they're just words. To him, they mean something and he refuses to use words he has yet to feel. Stop putting pressure on the poor guy and just enjoy each others company. Get over your insecurity. Do you really have to hear those words to know he cares about you? Words, just words, don't be paralyzed by words.

it's too early to say if he has lost interest. maybe he realy is just tired. but i agree that it is unusual behavior especially for a new couple. usually new couples can't be separated and can't stop saying i love you's to each other. give him a few more days or weeks. if he becomes worse, then talk about it and find a nice solution.

if you're telling him you love him only to hear it back from him, you're probably saying it for the wrong reason. also you might be rushing it... if youre not truly in love with him, he could be feeling that and could be uncomfortable telling you he loves you if his heart isnt really there.
