I want to apply I130 for my parents, but do not want the green card. I'd like to have them obtaining immigrant visas instead. Does anyone know how long this visa is valid for?

Thanks.

You are a little confused. It goes like this:

You file the I-130 petition
It is approved
It is sent to where your parents are
They apply for immigrant visas
The visas are granted. Your parents are thus allowed to move to the US any time in the next six months.
They travel to the US, turn over their immigrant visas, and get green cards.
They start living in the US.

I think green card and immigrant visa are the same. Check the official website www.uscis.gov
