my question is: who is ur favourite prophet (if able to distinguish any since we love them all) and which message other than Muhammad's (pbuh) do u follow?

personally, i love Jesus (pbuh) and try to apply his message in my everyday life

by the way, others than muslims r very welcome to state their opinion

PLEASE, no nasty comments

Say: 'We believe in Allah, and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in the Books given to Moses, Jesus, and the Prophets, from their Lord; we make no distinction between one and another among them, and to Allah do we bow our will in Islam" (Qur'an 3:84).

asalamoailkum, brother the most important and favourite prophet for a muslim should be muhammad (pbuh) , this is because he's life is the most relavent to us. muhammad (pbuh) was also the prophet of jesus(pbuh) moses(pbuh) e.t.c thats why he is known as the seal of the prophets. However you can respect the other prophets also as they are an example to us , however the respect for the last messenger should be seperate as allah seperates his praise for him from all the other prophets . Therefore you must favour him the most. In addition he is the mercy of all mankind meaning that he had the most love for his ummah and alhamdulilah we are blessed to be part of the greatest prophets ummah.

The teachings of the Dahli Llama are the most enlightening, pure peace and they havent been distorted by religious zealots as in other religions, in fact Buddhists dont aspire to a heaven as other religions do, but to 'enlightenment' here on earth, so making for a better life for all. I think most prophets have a good message, but in time this message has been used for purposes it was never intended, so many people become disgruntled with the religions that espouse a prophets message as their own opinion (and I am not having a go at Muslim's, but all religious zealots seem to do this, I think it is a power thing)

what does pbuh mean? I am a Christian but like to know about other peoples religions and do not criticise anyone about theirs but feel that Muslim women do go too far wearing the burqa and the hijiba. Those times have long past and they are clothes that were suitable at that time and not the present era. Many wear the ost beautiful clothes underneath these clothes so what is the point of hiding everything. Yes, I know there are men with bad intentions but surely the woman or girl should be able to put him in his place as they do in the rest of the world.

although i love and CHerish the teachings of Muhamamd(pbuh) i also feel a connection between me and the Prophet Moses. i guess because we both have struggled in the same way. See islam has the teachings of all the prophets in one place, so i dont think it is neccessary to abid by any other message other than that of Muhammad (pbuh)

I would choose Jesus, more for political reasons. He was the first socialist. Why Muslims still revere Abraham/Ibrahim has always puzzled me. He threw out Ismael and his mother, and so split the Semitic people. His grandson Jacob stole his inheritance from his older brother Esau. His twelve sons, the founders of the twelve tribes of Israel, then sold one of their brothers, Joseph, into slavery. Nice bunch!
If Christians followed the teaching of Jesus, without all later additions and interpretations, the world would be a better place, and, no offence meant, if Muslims adhered to the Koran, without all later additions and interpretations, then Muslims and Christians could live in peace together. Sadly this is not the case.

Theologically, you have a prohibition in the Holy Quran to 'distinguish' among the Prophets. Some are senior to others, but known only to Allah. You can not place one as higher than another. Spiritually, every human-believer has a psychological and spiritual temperament on the likeness of one prophet, so the epiphany of that Prophet shall descend on that person. One believer may be under the spiritual guidance of Yusuf, another of Yunus, another of Eisa... but all believers have spiritual link with Adam ...

Jesus states that John the Baptist was the greatest prophet (Luke 7:28). Jesus (who in His tongue was Yeshuah bar Yosef) personified God's immaculate character and you have made a good choice as to study His words and His life.

A prophet is a messenger of the Almighty God and I believe every generation has had their great prophets (such as Moses, Jeremiah and Samuel to name but a few). Blessed are you descendant of Abraham, who love the Lord, for He will raise up a people from all faiths whom He will save by His Anointed One for the Kingdom of Heaven.

Peace!

Islam is a religion that allows you to believe in all prophets, as they came with the same mercy message to all humankind. As a Muslim, I love Jesus (pbuh) and found he's story in Quraan is very emotional and interesting.
