The Koran doesnt teach that living in America is a sin, neither does Islam in general. This is a personal belief of your fathers and has nothing to do with religion. Please try not to confuse religion with ones own personal opinion.
I don't believe the Koran is the only answer, but I believe its one way of finding answers. I believe religion, any religion, is a way of inding answers. It depends which one speaks to an individual. Everyone has the freedom to choose which religious organization they want to belong to, they all provide answers for people.

Obviously if the Quran advocates such disdain for an entire group of people and how they live it can't possibly be the answer for peace and harmony. Don't even get me started on what it say about Jewish people. This isn't to say that Christianity is the answer either.

No the Quran is not the answer. The Bible is the answer.
I think you can see that your father is not correct. I don't think arguing with your father is going to do much good. It sounds like he's closed minded. You've got to make your own decision what you are going to believe. Just pray an earnest prayer to the one true living God to reveal himself to you. Read the Gospel of John in the Bible, and pray and read it. Compare the words of Jesus in the Gospel of John to the words in the Quaran. Which sounds like the true and living God? Jesus? Or Allah? God is not evil, and doesn't want to kill people that sin. He wants to save us from our sins. It says in the Bible that His kindness is what makes us seek him. Does the Quaran teach that? Is there any love in the Quaran? Maybe there is? But can you compare that to the love of Jesus Christ when he died on the cross for our sins?
Nothing can match that kind of love nowhere. So that's proof right there that God loves you, and would die for you. Now all you have to do is decide if you believe that, and want to accept that gift. If you seek the truth you will find it. Does that Quaran verse below give you any hope?

Blessed be He Who sent down the criterion (of right and wrong, i.e. this Qur'ân) to His slave (Muhammad SAW) that he may be a warner to the 'Alamîn (mankind and jinns).Yet they have taken besides Him other âlihâ (gods) that created nothing but are themselves created, and possess neither hurt nor benefit for themselves, and possess no power (of causing) death, nor (of giving) life, nor of raising the dead. Al Quran (25. Al-Furqân:1,2)

Well, it all depends on what the question is. But I cannot think of any question for which the only answer is the Quran.
