In Marine boot camp , can you bring you own eye glasses or do they provide you with it ?

i ask this becuz almost every recruit in boot camp wears the same glasses

You take your own until such time as you see a Marine eye doctor who will verify prescription and order your regulation glasses. Sorry no contacts

Bring your own glasses! Once you get through all the medical processing you will have your eyes re-examined and you will be issued new glasses. We called them BCG's (Birth Control Glasses) because they were so ugly that you would never get laid if you were caught wearing them, but I think the Navy (the Marine Corps' medical provider) sprung for some "more stylish" frames a few years ago.

Anything was better than the BCG's!

Yes, in boot camp you will look like the rest of your platoon mates. From your haircut to your glasses down to your underwear. If you don't, you've got a problem, and a Drill Instructor will be happy to let you know about it as soon as he notices.

Yah, you can bring it with you if prescribed by a Dr. but I can guarantee you that you will get messed with hard core if you do. The drill instructors look for any reason at all to single you out and mess with you. If I were you I'd suck it up for the three months youre there and then grab your soap for the next phase of training whether it be MCT or SOI.

Yes, arrive with your own. You will be seen by a Marine Eye doc and get generic Marine glasses, but in the meantime they like it if you can see.

They provide two pairs plus a NBC mask insert

Everybody's eyes get checked and everybody gets new military eye wear if needed .

bring your own, but they will give you new ones once you are looked at... ask your recruiter, thats what he is there for.
