God gave us reason, not religion. Stop crusading.

Your argument runs something like this:
The world is imperfect.
God made the world.
Therefore God is not part of the world
Therefore God is perfect.
God is defined as perfect.
Therefore God must exist.
A long time ago, a guy named Anselm proposed what is called the Ontological argument for God's existence. Essentially, he said that God can be defined as "that than which a greater cannot be imagined". Since a God that exists is greater than a God that doesn't exist, he reasoned, therefore God must exist.
The flaw is in confusing definitions with facts. Anselm's first "greater" refers to perfection. His second refers to reality. They are not the same thing and his conclusion is a philosophical trick.
In your argument, you have an unproven premise: "God made the world." From that, you argue, by exclusion, that an imperfect world requires a perfect creator. Not at all! Finally, you argue that IF this characterization of the creator matches the definition of God, God must exist. "True" does NOT mean "real". Your logic needs a little work.

If you quit messing with the caps your posts will be easier to read!
God is imaginary and the stuff going on is simple human problems. You should try helping to solve them instead of "Waiting for Godot". Your first step might be to quit worrying about your God, God is not the problem. Your next step is to quit condemming everybody else in the world, and quit condemming the world itself. Now about the Bible. It was written by a bunch of goatherders. They were not scientists and certainly did not have the technical knowledge of how the world worksd that exists today. They wrote for Political and for entertainment purposes. They did manage to get down some rules for how to get along with other people. The ideas on how to get along are the most important parts of the book. Even in those parts we have reached population densities that need better answers than some of the ones they had. Our politics are different.

Sorry. I'm a Christian, and *I* can't make sense of that statement. You can prove God's existence relatively easily by appealing to the worldwide historic record. The Bible tells us that God stopped the earth's rotation so Joshua could win a battle. Human records dating from that time ALL OVER THE EARTH record this event. It is no fantasy. It is also physically impossible without a bona fide miracle. The oceans should have overrun the continents. But they didn't. This is overt evidence for an interactive God or Godlike Being with greater powers than even modern scientists.

You have proven I am not the only person who seems to have noticed the direct correlation between degree of christianization, desire to spread it and random captialization of words Now I won't have to fight the temptation (so to speak. hehe!) of asking on Y!A if anyone else has noticed this oddity and wondering about it's prevalence in the christian community.
I'm a believer, by the way. I just don't believe the same things you believe any more now than I did a few minutes ago, so I suppose you've failed there. However, you've done a great job of making it very obvious how foreign your beliefs really are to me...

pink Eye hits area of it. the problem is certainly with the reality interior the bible and the negation of that. it incredibly is totally a significant issue for the Christians. If Evolution is genuine then Adam and Eve isn't genuine. If Adam and Eve did no longer exist, did no longer consume an apple and get booted out of paradise then the unique Sin would not exist. If there is not any unique Sin then there is not any want for time-honored redemption. meaning no want for God to have an illegitimate son and function him crucified. meaning no want for Christians. meaning the tip of a three billion greenback a year marketplace. Do you know now why faith fights against evolution, and why it incredibly is totally the Christians that are the main disillusioned with it? it is that straightforward.

Hooray!!!! Keep talking & maybe one day we can convince all the non believers. Thats a very good point about the termites & the architect. BUT there will be people who don't believe no matter how much we try to convince them, I have one in my family. So every night I ask God to bless him & also to forgive him for not believing. That's just something I do for my own piece of mind.

I already believe in a God, so I need no convincing. Good analogy. Everything has a creator, but God is the master creator of everything. Everything comes with instructions on how to build or put together something. A house has blue prints, which will require a builder. Our intructions or blue prints(so to speak) is God's holy word, the Bible. Keep speading the word. God is real!!

Honey, if you are a "believer" then you should not be in the attack mode ("you non-believers" -- as though they are the enemy) because believers live their belief, not finding it necessary to preach it to others -- actions speak louder than words .
I'm not really sure what your point is here, but you would gain a lot more ground if you presented your thoughts in a non-invasive, non-agressive manner.

I think you're right in that God is real, but wrong in that He has no laws to follow. Even Jesus Christ followed God's laws, so it can only be that God follows them as well. If God ever goes AGAINST what he stands for, He would cease to be God - i.e., he would become like man, having made a wrong choice or done a wrong thing.

Its amazing that someone would care about what others thought of God. As you say God has no rules to follow, so why should we be concerned?
