It depends on the driver. unless you are very good at shifting a manual trans quickly, there won't be much difference.

It is really up to the person driving.If someone knows how to power shift a stick,an automatic is nothing to beat.If you can't power shift,just forget it.The auto will run off and leave a stick in the dust.

For most stock driven cars, a stick shift allows the driver to shift at higher rpm's thus allowing the car to go faster. But it is such a minimal difference one would not really be able to tell on factory stock cars.

same trained driver on both cars in perfect conditions the stick will get .3 seconds of the auto in the quarter mile.

Normallllly sticks have a lower gear ratio but the bigger difference is the driver...

automatic if everything is new and stock.While your shifting the auto is going.At least that's how it used to be.
