There are certainly enough of us, and even before Christ, there were millions of people on this earth.Did God want each man or woman to choose a mate and make babies straightaway so as to populate His earth or did he want man and woman to marry first. And who were the first of all of the cultures, to marry?

the scriptures do say the woman was Adam's wife. So one can reason God is the minister of these unions.

Adam and Eve were married by God - He put them together. The Bible says that a man shall cleave unto a woman and they shall be "one flesh" (one in purpose, one in creating a family, etc.) God teaches marriage - not having babies out of wedlock. As to the first culture to marry, if Adam and Eve were married, I'm pretty sure they taught the same to their children and marriage has always existed between a MAN and a WOMAN and should remain that way.

My husband and I got pregnant, and then married a month after we found out we were pregnant. Why? Because we wanted to commit ourselves to each other lawfully and spiritually. We wanted to be a permanent, united front for our child. Those are our personal beliefs. He grew up with both parents, and I did not. My parents divorced when I was 7, and I had to deal with an unstable childhood with my mother paying more attention to her men than her children. After witnessing two divorces and an unstable, violent relationship, and growing up half my life without my father, I wanted something permanent, stable, and peaceful for my children. My husband wanted that too, and we're married and happy. We are a united family - and I like it. :) I also personally believe that children are a wonderful reason for marriage. Wouldn't your child feel unimportant if you were pregnant and that baby wasn't a major reason to marry the father? I care about everyone in our family, not just my husband.

When it was just Adam and Eve, I don't remember there being any mention of marriage but it was AFTER they sinned and ate the forbidden fruit that they had sex...
It seems that the first mention of marriage in the Bible was when Cain married and left the garden of Eden.

There is no God's children, as God is the only one and not same as human. God create Adam, after that He create Eve. Then, from them where we come from.
