WHICH DO YOU THINK SOUNDS MORE SOUND?
ya know I came across an interesting concept a couple weeks
ago I think it was, about how the mark of the beast may not be literall microchip implant, but a choice of the true sabbath, Saturday or Sunday. Saturday being the true day of worship and rest, while Sunday being the day the Roman Catholic church under their own theology changed the day, which isnt stated in scripture. So as to you go on Saturday in your own way during the tribulation somehow ur cool, jus end up beheaded. Or if you go on Sundays you accepted their mark, I.E. you have to carry around a card or fingerprint scan that proves you attended sunday to buy, sell, work all the stuff it says. interesting thing I came across you, but you cant cancel anything out for sure, plus I dont plan to be around to find out :)

Hi I think it is symbolic and below I will explain why using the Bible. It may be a little long due to all the scripture but I promise to answer all questions.

Revelation says that EVERYONE in the last day is marked.
Some people have the seal of God (Rev 7:3) and the rest have the mark of the Beast.(Rev 13:16)

Now do you think the Angels are going to fly around the earth and insert microchips in the foreheads of those who follow God?

If the seal of God is symbolic wouldn’t it also follow the mark of the Beast is symbolic?

What is the Seal of God
Isaiah 8:16 “Bind up the testimony; seal the LAW among my disciples.”

What is usually found in a seal?
Name
Title
Domain

Elizabeth
Queen
England

George Bush
President
United States

Pontius Pilate
Governor
Judea

“Cyrus king of Persia" in Ezra 1:1

If God’s seal is in his law which law has these three traits?
The fourth commandment is the only one that contains all three elements of a seal: (1) "The Lord"--His name, (2) "made"--His office as Creator, (3) "heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is"--His territory.

Is there any other example of the Sabbath as a sign?

Ezekiel 20:12 I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a SIGN between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them.

Ezekiel 20:20 Hallow my Sabbaths; and they shall be a SIGN between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God.

Exodus 31:13 Verily my Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a SIGN between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you.

The first four commandments deal with our relationship with God

Look at Daniel Chapter 3 the king says bow down to the golden statue or you will be thrown in the furnace.

this breaks the 2nd commandment

Daniel 6 the king says everyone has to worship the king or be thrown in a lion's den

this breaks the 1st commandment

So logically what would the Devil's next step be?

Is the mark visible?
The Devil is trying to deceive the Church. The Devil doesn't care about the people in the world, they are already lost he is after the Church. If anyone comes up to you and says "let me write 666 on your forehead." would you let them. No so the Devil is using a distraction to get you looking one way and embrace his teachings

Speaking of Sunday worship
"Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act... And the act is a MARK of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters." - C.F. Thomas

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. Acts 5:29

This concludes the Mark of the Beast, below I will address comments made above about the Lord’s Sabbath

1 )“Isaiah 1:13 - God begins to reveal His displeasure with the Sabbath.”
A)Poor Bible study. In verse 15 God says He hates their prayers so should we no longer pray. It is important to READ IN CONTEXT rather than pulling a verse out and using it to prove a false doctrine. Anyone who reads the first chapter can see that God is not happy with the people because there hearts were wicked and they were ACTING holy. The book of Isaiah even says this in “This people draw near to me with there mouth, and their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me” Isaiah 29:13. God did not hate the Sabbath, He hated that the people were PRETENDING to be holy by keeping the Sabbath
B) God says the exact opposite in THE SAME BOOK
Isaiah 56
“BLESSED is the man who does this, the man who holds it fast, who keeps the Sabbath without desecrating it, and keeps his hand from doing any evil."”
“And foreigners who bind themselves to the LORD to serve him, to love the name of the LORD, and to worship him, all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it and who hold fast to my covenant these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations."
Isaiah 58
“If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight and the LORD's holy day honorable, and if you honor it by not going your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words, then you will find your joy in the LORD, and I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob." The mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
Isaiah 66 says we keep the Sabbath in the New Earth
"As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me," declares the LORD, "so will your name and descendants endure. From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come and bow down before me," says the LORD.

2) “Matt. 28:1; Mark 16:2,9; John 20:1,19-“
A)Where in any of these verses does it say that Sunday is the new day of worship?
B) is it important that Jesus died on Friday, is it important that He created the New Covenant (The way we are saved) on Thursday? Yet neither of these days are called the New day of worship

3) “Acts 20:7”
A)Where in this verse does it say Sunday worship was a common practice or always done?
B)Where in this verse does it say that this is the new day of joint worship?
C)Where in this verse does it say that the Sabbath(Saturday) is no longer binding?
D)Where in this verse does it say that the New Holy day is Sunday?

E) Acts 20:7 never says that this was a continual, common, perpetual event. Instead Acts 20:7 goes out of its way to explain why they met on Sunday

"And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight."

Why did they meet on that Sunday Because Paul was leaving the next day.

F)Saying that because they broke bread meant that it was a new day of worship is incorrect also because Acts 2:46 says they broke bread everyday does that mean that everyday is the New Holy day

G)There are 6 places in Acts where the Church (Apostles, Jews, AND GENTILES all kept the Sabbath)
Acts 13:14
Acts 13:42
Acts 13:44
Acts 16:13
Acts 17:1-4
Acts 18:4
Compared to 1 for Sunday worship

This is not including Jesus prophesying that His followers would keep the Sabbath after His ascension.
Jesus speaking of the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 A.D.

"Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath." Matthew 24:20

By 70 AD almost all of the Apostles were dead except John and yet The Sabbath was still being kept, meaning NONE of the people who Jesus taught others that the Sabbath was not important or changed.

There are 6 clear verses of the early church keeping the Sabbath CONTINUALLY and 1 verse where they met on "A" Sunday. Do we throw out the 6 and keep one.

If you were in court and 6 witnesses all testify they “KNOW” the defendant is innocent because they were at the scene of the crime, would you ignore the 6 and accept the 1 witness who gives an ambiguous testimony saying he “THINKS” the defendant is guilty.

4) “1 Cor. 16:2”
Again poor Bible study.
A)This verse says nothing about worship. What it is talking about is collecting money to distribute for the famine in Jerusalem (Acts 11:28-30, I Corinthians 16:3)
B) If Paul doesn't want collections to be taken when he comes to worship why does he say collect it on Sunday
C) If we look at Acts 18 Paul went to Corinth to build the Church
Acts 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue EVERY Sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.
Acts 18:11 And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

That is 72 Sabbaths.

5)” Col. 2:16-17”
This is referring to ceremonial Sabbath days and festivals Colossians 2:14, read in context.
Ceremonial Sabbaths-Passover, Feasts of Trumpets, etc.
These are separate from the weekly Sabbath

6)” 2 Thess. 2:15”
Jesus says
“For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.” Mark 7:8-9

Peter says
“We ought to obey God rather than men.”
Acts 5:29

If man-made tradition contradicts the Clear WORD OF GOD, then God’s word takes precedent

7) “Heb. 4:8-9”
A)It says God would not have mentioned another day. Where did God mention Sunday as the new day of worship?

8) Rev 1:10
NO WHERE in the Bible is Sunday ever called the Lord’s Day, The Bible calls the Sabbath the Lord’s Day
Exodus 20:8
Ezekiel 20:12
Ezekiel 20:20
Matt 12:8
Mark 2:28
Luke 6:5

Provide one verse that calls Sunday the Lord’s Day

9)Didache
"But every Lord's day, do ye gather yourselves together, and break bread, and give thanksgiving after having confessed your transgressions, that your sacrifice may be pure"

A) In the original Greek the word day does not appear it is added by translators
B) Even if it did say Lord's day, The Bible says the Sabbath is the Lord's Day. Exodus 20:8, Isaiah 58:13, . Jesus 3 times in the NT says "I am LORD of the Sabbath."

10) “"If, therefore, those who were brought up in the ancient order of things have come to the possession of a new hope, no longer observing the Sabbath, but living in the observance of the Lord's Day, on which also our life has sprung up again by Him and by His death--whom some deny, by which mystery we have obtained faith, and therefore endure, that we may be found the disciples of Jesus Christ, our only Master." Ignatius, To the Magnesians, 9:1 (A.D. 110).

Again the word day is missing from the text it was also added by translators. Most scholars agree it should be “Life” not “Day”, if you replace “Life” for “Day” it makes more sense.

"living in the observance of the Lord's "LIFE", on which also our life has sprung up again by Him and by His death"

The Sabbath( Satuday) Stands

What do ministers of the different Faiths say?

Catholic:
“You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day we never sanctify.” - James Cardinal Gibbons

Catholic:
“Perhaps the boldest thing, the most revolutionary change the Church ever did happened in the first century(actually 200yrs later). The holy day, the Sabbath , was changed from Saturday to Sunday… not from any directions noted in the Scriptures, but from the Church’s sense of its own power… People who think that the Scriptures should be the sole authority should logically become Seventh Day Adventists, and keep Saturday holy.” –Saint Catherine Catholic Church Sentinel, May 21. 1995

Presbyterian:
“Until, therefore, it can be shown that the whole moral law has been repealed, the Sabbath will stand… The teaching of Christ confirms the perpetuity of the Sabbath” - T.C. Blake D.D. Theology Condensed

Baptists:
“There was and is a commandment to keep holy the Sabbath day, but that Sabbath was not Sunday. … It will be said, however, and with some show of triumph, that the Sabbath was transferred from the seventh to the first day of the week… Where can the record of such a transaction be found? Not in the New Testament- absolutely not. There is no scriptural evidence of the change of the Sabbath institution from the seventh to the first day of the week.”- Dr. Edward T. Hiscox, Baptist Manual

Pentecostal:
“Why do we worship on Sunday? Doesn’t the Bible teach us that Saturday should be the Lord’s Day?... Apparently we will have to seek the answer from some other source than the New Testament.” David A Womack, “Is Sunday the Lord’s Day?”

Lutheran:
“The observance of the Lord’s day [Sunday] is founded not on any command of God, but on the authority of the church.” – Augsburg Confession of Faith,

The author of Rev is the son of the beast. The beast used to be the Roman utilizing the identify Josephus who truthfully invented the composite person Jesus. When you learn extra and notice that his quantity is 666, that's the quantity of his identify in Greek numbering code, and it isn't a chip. The son is attempting to provide an explanation for who's dependable for making the faith that grew to be referred to as christianity and he had to provide an explanation for this in code considering that a few of the Roman royals desired that faith for use so to extra manipulate their ignorant lots and the Jews whom they hated. The Rev author can have had a few support from his possess son, however he used to be nonetheless order killed through Hadrian. The mark refers back to the smear of ash that catholic clergymen smear on believers' brow on ash Wednesday. All else in Rev had already occurred

Read Aaron's answer how Go also has his seal upon people's foreheads.

I think you will find that the idea of mark of the beast being Sabbath choice goes back to the SDA church which worships (surprise, surpirse) on Saturday. Col 2:16 says that we are not to be judged with respect to the Sabbath, so that means we don't need to worry about that.

In Biblical language, right hand often refers to strength. My understanding is that the mark on the right hand and forehead refers to the thoughts and actions of those who belong to the beast. In other words, there are those who will think and act according to God's teaching and those that will think and act according to the beast's teaching.

I know for a fact it is literal. Evidence: One of the phone companies recently spend millions of dollars to find the best place to put a microchip on the body and the results they got was in the forehead or in the hand. He is living in the world today, but he won't be in the public eye until after the church is raptured, which could happen any second my friend--all the players are in position. "And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.

First of all it was not the Roman church that began to worship on Sunday. It was the church at Jerusalem which began meeting on the Lord's Day(Sunday), after they had attended synagogue on the Sabbath. Remember the first 50 thousand or so Christians were mostly Jews.

Scripture says it will be a mark Rev13:16 14:9 on the forehead or hand. It could tie in with your idea there's alot of possibilities like a credit card # or some other new ID. However hard it may be, there are believers who are still alive at Christ's return.

Literal
Revelation mentions the mark of the beast six times. It tells us twice that the mark will be on the forehead or the hand.

It could be a microchip; it could be something that hasn't been invented yet. The Bible is amazingly accurate and supernatural. Science is still catching up with things the Bible revealed thousands of years ago. Just check out Scientific Facts in the Bible http://www.livingwaters.com/witnessingtool/scientificfactsintheBible.shtml

As for the rest of your question, read your Bible and pray. I don't plan to be around to find out either :)

sliccapostle,
Everytime someone brings it up, a new idea about what it is gets out. Truly amazing. I think that you were saying that the mark is literal. I would agree with that. And we can see it happening already. Chips are being implanted in the arms of humans for medical reasons mostly, but other uses are also being used. As soon as government gets involved, all that will become standardized. I really believe that.

Seventh Day Adventists, a cult with a following of about 8 million members world-wide, insist that the Sabbath is on Saturday, not Sunday. To them, anyone who worships on Sunday is part of the anti-Christ, especially those bad, bad Catholics. This is contrary to scripture and history.

Isaiah 1:13 - God begins to reveal His displeasure with the Sabbath.

Matt. 28:1; Mark 16:2,9; John 20:1,19- the Gospel writers purposely reveal Jesus' resurrection and appearances were on Sunday. This is because Sunday had now become the most important day in the life of the Church.

Acts 20:7 - this text shows the apostolic tradition of gathering together to celebrate the Eucharist on Sunday, the "first day of the week." Luke documents the principle worship was on Sunday because this was one of the departures from the Jewish form of worship.

1 Cor. 16:2 - Paul instructs the Corinthians to make contributions to the churches "on the first day of the week," which is Sunday. This is because the primary day of Christian worship is Sunday.

Col. 2:16-17 - Paul teaches that the Sabbath was only a shadow of what was fulfilled in Christ, and says "let no one pass judgment any more over a Sabbath."

2 Thess. 2:15 - we are to hold fast to apostolic tradition, whether it is oral or written. The 2,000 year-old tradition of the Church is that the apostles changed the Sabbath day of worship from Saturday to Sunday.

Heb. 4:8-9 - regarding the day of rest, if Joshua had given rest, God would not later speak of "another day," which is Sunday, the new Sabbath. Sunday is the first day of the week and the first day of the new creation brought about by our Lord's resurrection, which was on Sunday.

Heb. 7:12 - when there is a change in the priesthood, there is a change in the law as well. Because we have a new Priest and a new sacrifice, we also have a new day of worship, which is Sunday.

Rev 1:10 - John specifically points out that he witnesses the heavenly Eucharistic liturgy on Sunday, the Lord's day, the new day of rest in Christ.

Matt. 16:19; 18:18 - whatever the Church binds on earth is bound in heaven. Since the resurrection, Mass has been principally celebrated on Sunday.

The earliest known non-biblical writings of the early Christians show that Sunday was the New Sabbath, established by the Apostles. Note the dates:

On the Lord's own day, assemble in common to break bread and offer thanks, but first confess your sins so that your sacrifice may be pure." Didache, 14 (A.D. 90).

"If, therefore, those who were brought up in the ancient order of things have come to the possession of a new hope, no longer observing the Sabbath, but living in the observance of the Lord's Day, on which also our life has sprung up again by Him and by His death--whom some deny, by which mystery we have obtained faith, and therefore endure, that we may be found the disciples of Jesus Christ, our only Master." Ignatius, To the Magnesians, 9:1 (A.D. 110).

"The seventh day, therefore, is proclaimed a rest--abstraction from ills--preparing for the Primal Day,[The Lord's Day] our true rest; which, in truth, is the first creation of light, in which all things are viewed and possessed. From this day the first wisdom and knowledge illuminate us. For the light of truth--a light true, casting no shadow, is the Spirit of God indivisibly divided to all, who are sanctified by faith, holding the place of a luminary, in order to the knowledge of real existences. By following Him, therefore, through our whole life, we become impossible; and this is to rest." Clement of Alexandria, Stromata, 6:16 (A.D. 202).

Finally, my Sunday obligation is fulfilled with obervance on Saturday evening where the bishop permits, but that would never satisfy a hostile cult anyway.

It was translated wrong. 666 the # of man & machine. 6+6+6=18....1+8=9. 9 is a magical number. 3's & 6's go with the secrets of nine.
If you add 9, or multiply by 9 it will always reduce back to 9. Beast is a myth! False translation! Has it instilled fear in you? That was their purpose!

Before you consider the mark of the beast, consider this verse:

Revelation 9:4 - "And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads."

This verse, which talks about the "seal of God in their foreheads," is not a physical "mark" or "seal", and neither is the "mark of the beast" a physical one. The mark of the beast is a spiritual mark of deceit. Just like the "seal of GOD" is the TRUTH sealed IN the forehead -- IN the mind.
