I am trying to lose weight, but I have Diabetes and it tends to get in the way. Weight has always been an issue for me, but now it's affecting my physical health. I can't exercise like I should be able to, and I can't breath like I should be able to. Which is really bad because I am a singer and studying music education in school. I weigh about 50 to 60 pounds over what I should weigh, so I'm not horridly overweight, but it's still a problem. My doctor says that I am healthy overall, I just need to lose some weight. Anyone have any ideas on how I can lose some weight so I can around better.

You don't need to do anything really hard as far as exersize is concerned, just go for a walk every night. Do what you can. Are you following a good diabetic diet?

Since your under a physicans care have you asked your Dr to suggest a plan. What ever it will be in order for it to work for you it must be realistic. Those stupid grapefruit 2 day things do nothing except make you loose water and are a waste of your time. The key must be essentially that you take in less calories than you burn. One pound of weight is loss for a deficit of 3500 calories. Many Drs over the yrs have told me to never drop it below 1000 calories pr day... I dont know about that one. But by eating healthy things including your three servings of dairy and 5 healthy choices of fruits and vegetables low fat choices in your meats/protien and good starches... whole grains steamed rice no butter.... keep the salt intake down too.
For myself I have set goals... when I loose like 25 lbs I get this or that like a pair of special earrings... and then something at the next 10 or 15.... realize that a healthy goal is to loose no more than 2 lbs pr week.
And exercise is essential. I am only 44 and not diabetic but due to sever osteo arthirits I have had two knee surgeries this yr. Walking is sheer torture. But to complicate this I have Systemic Lupus, Fibromyalgia and it sucks. I am so thankful that I have not developed Diabeties. I have struggled with my weight all of my life since a stupid peditiritian told me I was fat fat fat at the age of 10 I weighed 105 and was 5ft 5inches my stupid mother followed the drs orders and put me on this stupid diet... I remember my father feeling bad for me and he would sneak me hostess pies and other junk food. He loved me and did not know how to say so without food.. he has never had a problem with it. Any way I excersise 20 mns a day every day its the only way I can keep the muscles in my legs from knotting up.
Ok enough babbling on... When I eat three yourgerts a day the weight falls off but you need to get the type with no sugar added Splenda and low fat some yourget is over 250 calories... the store brands ones are 8 oz ... so the three a day of milk are easy that way... and 100 calories each you have to take the time to read lables.. Also its not a diet it will be a way of life...good luck if you can find an exercise buddy that always motivates me my 16 yr old son walks with mom so she is safe he thinks he is protetcting me from creaps out in the world.
best wishes ..jamiaca

If you are 50-60 pounds over your weight you are overweight and sorry to be so blunt. If you have the chance to watch "YOU on a diet" on Discovery Channel (Friday @10pm est) i would recommended. Do you have a clue how much fat we accumulate? Women waistline should be of 32" check yours Men 36". Everyone can exercise, even starting with 10 minutes of your day and little by little adding more to it which at the end its for your convenience. I would also recommend using www.discoveryhealth.com for more interesting info and if you can join weight watchers even better. Best plan! Remeber, cut sugars (7grams of sugar = 1 tablespoon), saturated fats, lower your sodium intake (140 milligrams per serving, if possible, but no more than 2,400 milligrams per day), low fat, lots of water, veggies and fruits. Walking everyday will help you burn fat, build muscle and eventually your body will burn fat more than if you weren't exercising. Here is the link to find out your body mass index, very important. Give it a try and good luck!!

Yes, go to www.hufa.org - the library link. Find the book by Trowbridge called the Yeast Syndrome (I think) and follow Phase I of that diet for 3 - 4 weeks. You will lose your 2 pounds a week (healthy weight loss) plus. It is a good diet for diabetics, because it is low on sugar. As yeast likes "sweet" bodies, you may want to read the info there on yeast too. If yeast is present then it may be helping keep your blood sugars elevated (it does mine).

You may want to see if you can get a referral to a diabetes clinic. The nurses and dieticians there will be very knowledgeable and able to offer lots of help. You obviously need to watch what you're eating, you can't just cut out carbs or do one of the fad diets. Walking is one of the best excercises you can do. Please be sure to keep an eye on your sugar levels while you are exercising as well.

That's really terrible about all of the pet food recalls. I've heard that about sixteen pets have died and many more are sick from the contaminated foods. I think that there are people inside the companies who have been putting the poison in the food. The poison is the same thing that's used in rat poison, which doesn't just "accidentally" get in the food. I'm not too worried for myself, because I don't have a dog or cat, but I think that if you do, you should be very careful.

I have insulin dependant diabetes, i am not overweight, i am unlucky, i am 31, I go to the gym every day and i look hot and nobody knows that i have a serious medical condition.

If you want to lose a couple of kilos then start exercising, walking to start with and progress to more intense physical exercise. Stop eating crap, and start eating healthy foods, vegetables, fruit, nuts. Eat foods low in refined sugars and low in saturated fat.
Eat foods high in fibre so it makes you go to the toilet.
good luck in your future,

Hi, A friend of mine lost 15 pounds in 11 days using a 9 day cleansing program from Isagenix.

You can find out more about the program at www.gocleanse.com/dima

They've got some great news reports on the product where they actually put it to the test and I think you will be amazed at the results.
