I guess it would depend on what you wanted to do with it...like just listen in or record what was being said. t would also depend on how much money you wanted to spend. The first step would be to locate where the phone wires come into the home. It's usually a small box with four little wires...from there it branches off to the phone jacks through the house. You could ( hypothetically of course) connect a phone there ( test phones work good...Radio shack sells them) and listen to what is being said on the line. Wiretapping is illegal and a serious infringement on someones privacy. Recording devices are out there... it probably wouldn't take to long to find one out there on the internet. Good luck.
