There are only two entities in the Universe, one is Consciousness and the other is Energy...but this energy too is self conscious
In us our body, mind, intelliegence and ego all are creation of the Energy....the Soul in us is pure consciousness and this soul is common to all.

Either that, or a special kind of matter which acts as a more open receptable for energy. From a Mormon point of view, I found one scripture in Doctrine & Covenants 131:7-8 - "There is no such thing as immaterial matter. All spirit is matter, but it is more fine or pure, and can only be discerned by purer eyes. We cannot see it; but when our bodies are purified we shall see that it is all matter." This was recorded in May, 1843, by Joseph Smith, as a revelation. Another verse in Doctrine & Covenants 77:2 (recorded in 1832) says "...the spirit of man (is) in the likeness of his person, as also the spirit of the beast, and every other creature which God has created." It may be that we will not understand the exact relationship between matter and spirit and energy until we see the Resurrection in process after the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Have a happy day, and good question.

I love these types of questions! I talk about this kinda stuff all the time with family and yes I think our soul could be called a form of energy. energy is something we cant see but can only see the out come, like our spirit. And in peoples religions they say there is an after life. if the spirit is like energy then it cant go away it only changes from one type to another(death).

A spirit is a being that has no parts,no element that is not the whole of it, and does not occupy space. It therefore does not have any of the qualities that originate from matter, for matter takes up space. Our spirit is the element in us by which we know and love. A soul is what gives matter on earth life. Plants and animals have souls, but our soul is the only one that is also a spirit. (There are spirits that are not souls for they do not have any matter here on earth to control.) Our soul takes the information received by our senses and holds the information (this is how it knows), but the soul itself does not have senses. This is what I believe a soul and a spirit is.

Spirit and soul are different.
The word ' soul' used in the Bible is translated from the Hebrew word "nephesh" which means...that which breathes. So your soul is you, alive, breathing.
On the other hand, spirit is translated from the Hebrew "ru'ach" or the Greek word "Pneu-ma" , the base word for pneumatic, or like air. You cannot see it but you can notice its effects.
The bible does not support the idea that any Ru'ach or pneu-ma is left over when we die. In fact it states the opposite.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5-6) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.

Spirits, souls and other apparitions are outside the realms of science, thus it is illogical to think such things are energy. One only possesses energy if it is constructed from atoms and molecules. Since souls does not contain these, they are not matter or energy.

what ever i have read till now.. soul is also an energy as every thing is made up of energy...science is very backward if u want to know the detail or know the truth of life. ..go for relegion and in relegion go for meditation .. it will show you the way.. otherwise the roots is relegion and the branches which we are seeing is just science ,,and science cant exist without religion..
