If you make an image of yourself would it be the same as you? No. An image is like a shadow. A drawing. A statue. God is much more complex than us. We are just an image of what he is.

We are not even close to being equals with God. On a scale from 1- 10 we would be a 1, and God would be a 100,000,000,000,000.
God does not sin, but yes HE does feel sorrow, every time we sin it is like HE is being crucified all over again.

Not necessarily. I can create a doll in my own image, but the doll does not become equal to me. Since God doesn't necessarily have a physical form ("God is spirit" John 4:24), I believe that "in His own image" means that we, like God, have an eternal component to us - our soul.
Also, sin is separation from God, so God by definition can't sin. Since God cannot be separated from Himself. I also believe that God does feel sorrow. His reaction (the veil being torn and the earth quaking) to the crucifixion of His Son, Jesus Christ, is a good example of His sorrow being expressed.

I think the idea behind this is that God created us with intellegence. However, it has been used to mean that God is human-like (two arms, two legs). I don't think that it necessarily implies, even if taken literally, that we are God's equal. If an artist does a self-portrait, no matter how good it is, that portrait will never be able to paint a portrait of itself. Being made in God's image does not make you God; it makes you a reflection of God.

We are not told we are an exact image as Colossians does indicate Jesus Christ is.
I believe the way we are made in the image of GOD shows the trinity nature of GOD. We are made in three parts, mind, body and spirit and we see GOD as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
to answer the rest of the question:
Doesn't that mean He, too, commits sins NO...we are told in regard to Jesus:
Hebrews 4:15
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
BUT...Jesus became sin for us...
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
and feels sorrow?
Oh YES....GOD does feel sorrow.
Ezekiel 33:11
Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
The shortest verse in the Bible is "Jesus wept" which indicated sorrow.
Now, in GOD's sight the wicked is anyone who has not trusted Jesus for full payment for their sin regardless of how "good" they are. Good works will not get one moment in heaven...only trust in Jesus can do that...read the link below to find out how

No, God is much greater than us. He never sinned. Yes, I believe at times he dose feel sorrow. I think that when the Bible says we were created in His image it means that we humans, unlike animals and other living things, have souls and a freewill.

God created man in His image to personify His attributes (Love, Wisdom, Justice, Strength (there are many more, but these are His cardinal attributes)) Look at everything around you and ask yourself this: Can the birds show justice (or the need for justice) Can the flowers in your garden show attributes of Power? No, we as humans posess all these attributes (even though we are imperfect)

God created us in His own image but that doesn't make
us equal to Him. Just like your parents created you, it doesn't make you equal to them in that sense. You still
have respect & hold them in superiority. God created
the whole Mankind, that makes Him the Greatest among
us. However, it is true He has feelings like Love, Anger,
Mercy, Disappointment, etc just like we do as we are
created in His likeness. And no, He does not commit sin.
For example, if God kills, it's call justice as He is the
upholder of the Law as in our police and military forces.

If you have a twin, it looks like you, but does that mean it acts exactly like you?, Maybe sometimes thats when people do good in the eyes of the Lord, but when we sin, those are the moments when you'll say "WE DONT LOOK ALIKE!"

"Doesn't that mean He, too, commits sins"
If you buy into that whole Noah's Ark tale, then yes. I'd say wiping out all humanity would qualify as a sin to a christian.
