Some people say opposites attract. Other people say similar personalities attract.
People are tossing these phrases around as reasons but dont give an justification.
Which do you think is right or possibly another option? Give reasons and please not "it just is!"

If you meet someone just like you they will soon bore you crazy

Opposites attract is a bit of a myth. I watched a show on this once, I think it was 20/20 and they did like a scientific survey on this and the results showed that similar personality types tended to have better and longer relationships.
Personally speaking from previous experience, opposites can create a lot of short lived but intense sparks. But similar personalities tend to have less problems and get along better, which in turn leads to a longer relationship.
Most people tend to gravitate towards similar personalities since it is just easier and more comfortable.

Alright, I think opposites have a less chance of attracting then similar personalities do. Opposites can get off the wrong foot, because of just a simple disagreement, as for similars.......it can be very attractive when you both agree on something.

I truly believe that opposites attract. For us, my husband and I are opposites on a lot of different issues and we are happily married. Granted, there are somethings that we have in common, but for the most part, we are very different. If we were alike, I am sure that we would not get along like we do now.

I think the reason opposites get along so well is because one person accents the other with the qualities they have and the other doesn't. At least that's how it seems to me, its best because each person gains more from their partner in this way.

Absolutely!! My husband who I have known for almost 20 years~yes I am 36 years old. We are total opposites and works SOOOOO good. Especially when we had kids!!

Opposites, similiar.... it doesnt matter, its if you like each other, or have fun with one another, appreciation. etc..
